Darn it, this guy can sing!!!

I do things backwards! I bought his latest release It's Time first and now this although on both counts I win!!!!

Fever and Moondance are scathingly hot and That's All appealed to me almost as much as it did to my folks. My daughter loves Kissing a fool and crazy little thing. Really enjoyable!!

Could have waited a little longer on this one!

Being a fan of John Hiatt's for 25+ years and owning all of his previous albums, I'm sorry to say this one is a major disappointment. There is very little here to get excited about or to compare with ANY of his previous of his work. There are no stand out efforts, just a three piece band with some tired lyrics in a hurry to finish an album (3 days), and it shows. If you're new to John Hiatt, invest in any of his earlier work starting with "Riding With the King"(1983) through "Little Head"(1997) and you can not go wrong. If you are a John Hiatt fan, let your big head do the thinking and skip this one.

Forget "Imagine", THIS is the real John Lennon

If you are a John Lennon/Beatles fan and do not own this album you have a serious hole in your collection. This is John's first post-Beatles album and pulls no punches while suffering no fools. The cover of the album, a "quiet afternoon in the countryside" portrait of John relaxing in Yoko's lap, could not be more at odds with the angry, unapologetic music inside. A more appropriate cover would have been John scowling at the camera brandishing his middle finger. John lashes out at his parents (the scathing "Mother"), naive hippies (the hard-rocking "I Found Out"), the establishment ("Working Class Hero") and everything else including religion, Kennedy, Dylan and yes, the Beatles ("God"). The music is deliberately stripped down and limited to either a solo acoustic guitar or a basic ensemble of guitar, bass and drums. This must have been a very cathartic experience for John and interestingly ends on a subdued note with the childlike nursery rhyme "My Mummy's Dead". Next to "All Things Must Pass", one of the greatest solo Beatles albums and an essential listen for any Lennon fan. If you own the original CD and are wondering whether the sound quality of this remaster warrants purchasing it a second time, the answer is YES! Not only is the sound crystal clear, the expanded liner notes and photos are a welcome bonus.

Unbelievable

18 is one of my favourite albums of all time. I did not think Moby could top it. I just listened to Hotel,- and it blew me away. I love every single track on it. Thank you Moby, thank you so much for bringing your amazing talent into into this currently very messed up world.
