A thing of beauty is a joy forever....

Much like the title of this review is the way I feel about John Coltrane's 1965 masterwork. For a man who made so much brilliant music in his brief life, "A Love Supreme" is one of those rare moments when music becomes a purely spiritual experience. Though I'm fond of the entire album, my personal favorite is "Pursuance"(part 3)/"Psalm"(part 4), the long suite that took up one entire side of the original album. Years after hearing for the first time this music is still incredibly beautiful, complex, challenging, yet accessible all at the same time. Not many musicians can accomplish all of that in stroke, but 'Trane did. A cornerstone to anyone's jazz collection.

Best Audio Quality in SW-Soundtracks

If you have the DVD-Box Set of "Star Wars Trilogy" or you are a fan of Star Wars World this is a must CD to buy. In terms of design, your SW-DVD and SW-CD will look in harmony in shelf. But more importantly, in terms of product specifications there are some new features. In this version, 6 CDs (2 for each film) are recorded DSD (Direct Stream Digital) technic which means there is no loss in audio-quality during the transition of masters to your copy. And I think this is a unique feature of this set, if you are ultra-high-quality-audio-fanatic. And if you have a good-quality-audio system (amplifier and speakers) you can deeply feel the audio-difference between the old versions and this one. Also there are some little beauties in the package such as original small posters of each film, 3D-CD covers based on posters (which is great!) and a web-based access for special features (screensavers, picts, etc.). There are some archival alternate bonus tracks namely; in SW-4.cd1:Binary Sunset (after this song if you wait about 1min, you can also hear bonus tracks of main title which are from retakes -this is not credited in CD-backcover), in SW-6.cd1:Sail Barge Assault, in SW-6.cd2:The Forest Battle. Apart from all of these, this CD-set is a nice and important archival CD set to buy in terms of quality work of John Williams (composer) and in honor of Star Wars in the film history of humankind.

Madonna at her best in the 90's

This album gets a lot of bad press but it's Madonna's best in the 90's (definitely not the completely different, more fun, cheesy 80's Madonna we know and love) Instead it is mature, honest, and best of all, the songs all sound different without losing the theme of sexual revelation. You can definitely pick out one song from the other but they all flow together to provide a contemplative, sometimes serious (Bad Girl, Secret Garden), sometimes fun (Deeper and Deeper, Fever)album that is very impressive and immensly enjoyable. I like every song on this album which is more than I can say for other Madonna albums. "Rain" is one of her best songs ever, a case study in how music can affect your mood. "Fever" is a great, modern version of the old Peggy Lee classic. A very worthy album.
