Simply Wonderful...Get it while you can.

I've been listening to Michael Civisca for well over a year now, and this new album is an absolute gem. The trio creates an intimate perspective of Michael's work, and gives you the feel of actually sitting in a lounge soaking up every vocal note. It's awesome! If you've never heard Michael Civisca, take my advice and just get it!

Fantastic Collection

I agree with the previous reviewer when he states that it's almost impossible to conceive how this fantastic 2 disc set is buried so deeply and is so hard to find. I'm not even sure of how much longer it's destined to stay in print, given the new 2 CD "Best of Bowie" that's been released this past year and includes a number of the same songs. That being said, this is a set that should be in your collection, and includes all of the songs on the "Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" Singles collection in one set.
Even after one listen, you'll be amazed at how many of the Bowie songs here that you instantly recognize. It includes almost all of his hits from 1969's Space Oddity up through "Black Tie White Noise" circa 1992?ish. Where else can you snag hits like "Ziggy Stadust", "Suffragette City", "Space Oddity", "Changes", "Life on Mars?", "Heroes", "Sound and Vision", "Rebel Rebel", "Fame", "Young Americans", "Look Back in Anger", "Golden Years", "Ashes to Ashes", "China Girl", "Modern Love", "Blue Jean", "Under Pressure", "Let's Dance", "Never Let Me Down", and "Jump They Say" in one collection? The only true stinker here is the Bowie/Mick Jagger duet "Dancing in the Streets" *shudders*, but other than that, everything is amazing.
In conclusion, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of "The Singles" while you can, because it's the best 1-shot David Bowie fix available. Enjoy.

Title: Naked City
Label: Nonesuch
Artist: John Zorn
Rating: 5/5

insanely excellent

John Zorn is a sort of enigma to most people. Prior to actually finding a Zorn record I had heard of him only in passing. When I did actually plop down my hard earned sheckles I found something that was far more deserving of a full blown holiday than a mention in passing. John Zorn may be one of the greatest improv artists of our time and should certainly be placed in the ranks of Miles, Coletrane, Parker, and Monk. The album Naked City for instance is a Harcore/Grind/Jazz/Movie Theme catastophy of which may very well cause you to not only change the way you listen to music but buy every John Zorn album soon after you listen to it.

A Classic Concert

I'm glad they finally released this. Its only been available on bootleg and to hear it remastered must be a treat. Most of the album is basically the Velvet Underground Unplugged. However, get it for the Nico songs. Aside from an ep of Peel Sessions which are not really live anyway, this is the only way to hear classic Nico songs live. And anyway, the band as a whole shines. This was one of those special one of a kind concerts, not to be repeated.
