Another winner!

This is the fourth CD from Brian Setzer and his orchesta and he is still pumping out swingin' hep beats. "Americano", "Caravan" and "'49 Mercury Blues" are particularly outstanding.
If you liked the Guitar Slinger or the Dirty Boogie CDs, you'll definitely enjoy this one!

Almost as good as Genie's Higher Than The Heavens

MWS Worship is a good CD.
It's not as good as my favorite Worship CD, which is Genie's Higher Than The Heavens, but it's close.
That's saying alot.

Let's not spread rumors.

Techno did not come from Europe folks, the Moog and its offspring were made here in the good old USA. Those tools were exported and experimented on here and abroad. Some inner city Detroit and Chicago folks put them to use, and so did some folks in Germany, England, ect., back as early as the mid 70's. Who did what first is debatable, but "Techno" the term came from Detroit. "Rave", on the other hand, was a English/European term applied to all night dance parties that started in the early to mid 80's. Whether or not they only played "techno" at these first events is also debatable. However, history aside, this cd is a good representation of what you would have heard in 1993-97 at a typical outdoor "rave" event in Southern California. The mixes are slick and the set builds nicely into a good funk/break influenced trance. The best thing about it is the showcasing of local talent that was around then by a technically proficient dj. Many of these acts have gone on and produced cd's of their own, and are worth researching if you are into this "type" of techno. Being an o.g. myself, (1990 L.A.), I need a little more diversity and surprise in my sets to award the 5 star.

Good Start For Jennifer

This peppy voiced artist has done a pretty good job on her first album. She has ok songs and pretty catchy tunes, that will have you dancing in no time. I felt that some of the songs could have been improved on, but overall a good cd. Go ahead and buy it if you are looking for some good dance songs, but if you are looking for great vocals and wonderful lyrics, I say you might want to pass this one up.
