Bees Gees are so great. All of their songs with that R&B, Disco Pop, and Rock touch were and still is great. Songs that was covered by Destiny's Child, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton shows their work was loved by many and you can't knock they're work. Never be 'Gulity' of loving the Bee Gees.

Great Release

This is a very good album, and one that certaintly did not dissapoint.I don't think that it ranks among her best recordings, but it's a very consistent, satisfying record. This album was the perfect mix of pop/r n'b, and one that you couldn't really categorize. On this album, you can hear Mariah breaking out, from her all-american,diva style, and into something of her own.
1-Fantasy-This song is fun, and perfectly sung. But the remix is way better. It gives the song more edge, and makes it more distinctive.
2.Underneath The Stars-A more personal song, telling a simple story about a romance Mariah once had.The lyrics paint a picture in your head and the whole song is just very sweet and relaxing. It's a song about love, but one that doesn't fall under the adult contemporary genre.
3. One Sweet Day, feat Boyz II Men-Can you say BIG HIT?All the hype aside, I think it's just a lovely song, with a great chorus, and a nice blend of vocals.
4.Open Arms-Originally, this song was done by Journey. But, I don't know how anyone can top this. Her voice completely soars in the chorus.Beautiful.
5.Always Be My Baby-A really fun up-beat song that always puts me in a good mood. It's definately one of Mariah's more memorable up-tempos.
6.I Am Free-A gospel-ly tune which sounds like something from emotions. It's a really nice song, but her voice isn't in it's best form here.
7.When I Saw You-One of those hoplessely romantic songs that sounds like it could belong in a movie. It's really pretty.
8.Long Ago-A faster song, which up to that point was the most r n'b Mariah had gone. It's ok,but it doesn't add anything to the record, and could've easily been left off.
9.Melt Away-A really sweet song with Babyface written all over it(he did collaborate on the song, so that explains it).Even though there have been a million songs like this done before(especially the chorus)I do enjoy listening to it, especially when I want to chill.
10.Forever-This song is beautiful. There's a bit of a 50's edge to it, and I love the backup singers on the bridge of the song.Everything about this song works.
11.Daydream Interlude(Fantasy Sweet Dub Mix)-There's really no point to it.It's like a club/dance version of "Fantasy", except, it's the length of an interlude.
12.Looking In-This song alone is worth the entire cd.It has one of the saddest, most beautiful tunes I've ever heard, and some of the best, most deepest lyrics Mariah has written.
This album isn't anything groundbreaking, but it certaintly is a really well put-together recording, and one of the best additions to both pop and r n'b throughout the 90's.

He makes me feel young again!

I just absolutely love this man. And I'm so glad this CD came out. I love going over to a friend's house and seeing that they own this CD and are experiencing Russell Watson too.
Some great cuts on this album are, as many have mentioned, "Is Nothing Sacred", "Va, pensiero", and "Bohemian Rhapsody". And, as many others have mentioned, all of the tracks are just wonderful and "You Are So Beautiful", a song that means so much to me and moves me to tears everytime I hear it.
As an older person, I have heard many, many singers in my time and I think I am a good judge of who the great singers are and which singers have that certain something that makes them shine. Russell has it! He makes me feel young again! Even when he sings his classical songs! He is wonderful!

Title: Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player

Some Classics, Others Mere Ordinary

Yes, Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player was one of Elton John's recordings that was released during his peak years. Somehow, it falls short of some of his other releases during that period.
The two singles, the bouncy Crocodile Rock and the gentle easy going Daniel are true gems. Edelberry Wine and High Flying Bird are two strong album tracks. And Have Mercy On The Criminal is fairly memorable as well. As for the remaining songs, they are not bad but not too great either. I have listened to this record about four or five times over the last few days and tunes like Blues For Baby And Me and Texan Love Song just do not jog my memory too strongly.
For my money, this is a pretty good Elton John record. However, I prefer Honkey Chateau, Goodbye Yellowbrick Road, Caribou, and Captain Fantastic to this batch.
