Best pure dance album ever!

Michaels best pure dance album. With the exeption of "heal the world" and "gone to soon" this album is near perfect.Ask anyone who has ever dnaced to the point of sweating to "why you wanna trip on me" or "she drives me wild" and they will surely tell you the funk is real. Unfortunately this album didnt get the respesct it deserved, do to Michaels personal life grabbing the headlines instead of his music.

Title: The Wild Party (LaChiusa) (2000 Original Broadway Cast)
Label: Decca U.S.
Artist: Michael John LaChiusa, Marc Kudisch, Norm Lewis
Rating: 4/5
Customer rating - 4 out of 5
An Important New Work From a Gifted Composer

"The Wild Party" is far from an "easy" piece of theatre to take in and digest, but it is an important new musical by one of Broadway's most gifted composers. Based on a dark and unsettling poem, this musical tells the story of Vaudeville dancer Queenie and her homicidal lover, Burrs, in the last days of their crumbling relationship. These are hard-drinking, drug-taking partiers who live for the moment, only to find themselves depleted and disillusioned, searching for more but finding nothing. Toni Collette is a true revelation as Queenie, and should have received the Tony Award for her performance. Mandy Patinkin is so unlikable as Burrs that it's difficult to listen to the performance on CD. Tonya Pinkins and the legendary Eartha Kitt stand out in the cast as two world-weary women who add fuel to the raging inferno that is the wild party. This is a uniformly marvelous cast and a wonderful recording. LaChiusa's music puts one in mind of the Brecht/Weill "Threepenny Opera." Although it did not find a long life on Broadway, hopefully this work will survive and flourish in regional theatres. As a piece of drama, it works beautifully. Treat yourself to a wild time!

Title: Hotel Costes, Vol. 3: Etage 3
Label: Pschent Music
Artist: Stéphane Pompougnac

I've been listening to the Hotel Costes collection for a couple of years already! I simply love them all!

My first album was "La Suite" (the second in the series); immediately after that one I bought "Costes 1", then came "Costes quatre" and "Costes 5", and a couple of months ago "Costes 6"! I once had the chance to listen to the "Costes 3" collection but I didn't like it then!

I really don't know why I didn't like "Costes 3" then, because a few months ago, I listened it again at a friend's house and I loved it! So I decided to order it (from Amazon)! Now, after a couple of months since I bought it, I must say that I am quite pleased with it. As a matter of fact I like it a lot! Just as with other Costes albums, "Costes 3" is filled with an excellent mix of really cool music!

So, just when I thought that I finally had the whole Costes collection I've seen that there's a new "Costes 7"!...I can't hardly wait to get it!!!

Title: Angels & Outlaws
Label: Bandera
Artist: Brian Burns
Rating: 5/5

An Unusual CD from an Unusual Singer/Songwriter

Brian Burns is an unusual Texas singer songwriter--unusual in the respect that his CD's are almost as entertaining and thought-provoking as his live performances.
And Angels and Outlaws is an unusual CD. I've got a handful of CD's in my collection that I can honestly say haven't got a single bad cut on them. EVERY song on Angels and Outlaws is perfect. Perfectly written, perfectly produced, and perfectly interpreted by the man who wrote them.
The music on this CD runs the gamut from pure fun, to Texan philosophical contemplation, to a mixture of both, with a love song or two thrown into the mix.
Brian's an auteur. Buy his CD, and see him live if you can.
