Great CD for Idol Fans!

This is a REALLY good CD, with some EXCELLENT covers! A couple of the songs were um... how can I put this... well, I guess in layman's terms, they [...]... but y'can't get everything down, right?
0/5- Don't even listen to... Horrible...1/5- Hate it2/5- Not that good3/5- Average4/5- Great5/5- Excellent
1. (5/5) "What the World Needs Now"- This is a beautiful song to begin with, but it really displays the different range of vocals in the top 10. Gorgeous song, Julia's endnote really ties it all together.2. (4/5) "Superstar"- Ruben is a really cool guy and a good singer, but this cut of the song just didn't hit me as much as I would've liked... The intro alone takes 48 SECONDS before we hear Ruben sing AT ALL! It seemed a lot slower to me than his live version, but maybe I'm just out of it... Good song, but not as good as the live performance.3. (5/5) "On the Wings of Love"- What can I say? I totally love Clay's voice. It's so gorgeous! He does an excellent rendition of this song... I was sooooooooooo torn during the finale between the two of them... I wish Clay and Ruben could have both won... Clay did a lot of awesome songs so I wouldn't know if this is the one I would've put on here... It was beautiful though... I'll be the first in line to buy his album when it comes out!4. (4/5) "At Last"- Wow... That's the best word I can come up with... Wow... Julia can sing... Quite a shocker... This is a really good cover I think, really good vocals. She should've sang this way in the competition... She would have got a lot further probably. The only reason I docked it from a 5 was because how tiring it gets to listen to after the billionth time around... But I guess that can be said for most songs...5. (5/5) "Three Times a Lady"- To begin with, I must admit that my opinion is probably biased... I loved Josh from the first time I heard him sing... He's just so sweet and such a great role-model... I thought they should've picked a song he sang in the competition 'cause this was a bit slow, but it was still really beautiful.6. (5/5) "Let's Stay Together"- As another reviewer pointed out, what IS Trenyce's last name??? Oh well, that's off topic... Really nice song, very catchy, my only problem is that it wasn't nearly as strong as the live version that I ADORED when I heard it on the show... Still really good though... I think Trenyce should've been 3rd...7. (4.5/5) "Back At One"- I loved Brian McKnight's original version, and Rickey did a REALLY good cover... He sounded JUST like Brian to the point where it was SCARY! I think the background vocals were a bit annoying... A really nice song, but I wish he had switched it up a little...8. (5/5) "Killing Me Softly With His Song"- I'll be honest, I really didn't like Kimberly on the show. At all... She seemed too much like a Britney Spears wannabe to earn much respect in my eyes and I wasn't heartbroken when she was voted off... But god... This song is fantastic... Words don't describe it... Probably one of the best songs on the CD. I feel bad for not liking her so much... If she had sang like this my 'tude may have been different...9. (0/5) "Open Arms"- I HATE CORY CLARK! HE CANNOT SING! HE'S A THUG THAT BEAT UP HIS SISTER AND STOLE CLAY'S SONG! UGH! HE SHOULDN'T BE ON HERE 'CAUSE HE IS A DISGRACE TO ALL THAT IS IDOL! (I thought it was a girl on the opening vocals at first... That's HOW BAD he is...) Skip right over this one folks...10. (4/5) "How Do I Live)- Decent song, Carmen is no Leann Rimes, but she seemed like a sweet girl in the competition. It gets a bit tiring, but she sang pretty well.11. (1/5) "Over the Rainbow"- I am possibly the only girl in the entire world who could not STAND Kimberley Locke... That girl just got on my last nerve... This, like "Open Arms" is a song I skip over every time... I just hate her voice... She sounds like she's choking on a halibut... Trenyce deserved 3rd place... It should've gone to someone with TALENT!!! 12. (5/5) "Overjoyed"- Oh my gosh. This was another shocker. This song was GORGEOUS! I cannot get enough of it! I wish Charles had sang like this in the competition! The vocals were AMAZING! It convinced me that he deserves a recording contract just as much as Clay and Ruben... Make sure you listen to this one, you'll keep hitting the BACK button a few dozen times.13. (4/5) "God Bless the USA"- Josh sounds sooo cute! Um... Yeah... ^^;;; Nice song, better live, but that can be said about a few of them... The girls part isn't as good as the guys but Trenyce was the only girl I really thought was good this year, so I may be a bit biased...
Top 4 Songs on CD:"Overjoyed"- Charles Grigsby"Killing Me Softly With His Song"- Kimberly Caldwell"Let's Stay Together"- Trenyce"On the Wings of Love"- Clay Aiken
Overall, if you GOT RID OF [...] CORY and added a Vanessa song instead, this is a REALLY good CD. Any Idol fan needs it just to relive the triumphs and tears of the most addictive show of the year...

Title: Dangerously in Love
Label: Sony
Artist: Beyoncé
Rating: 3/5

Great debut, but way too slow sometimes

When I first heard "Crazy in Love" on the radio, I thought the entire records was going to be like that. After I bought it I found out that it's the opposite; most of the songs are ballads. Although not perfect, I think Beyonce's debut is very good. Songs like "Baby Boy", "Naughty Girl", "Speechless", "That's How I like it", "Me, Myself and I", "Crazy in Love" and the title track are very goods. The others pale in comparison. A good buy, if you like R&B, specially the slow type.

Classic Coverdale & a Whole Lot More !

Any melodic rock music fan should love this CD. Why? For soulful vocals delivered by a great singer who goes up & down the scale, but in the context of melodic, romantic compositions with a great supporting band, please consider checking out this CD. For David Coverdale fans, this CD is a must purchase. The 25+ year rock veteran still possesses a powerful voice and great vocal range. DC always puts out a quality product and this release is no exception. There is a wonderful combination of power ballads, bluesy rock tunes, hard rockers and acoustic ballads all loaded with great composition, musicianship and production quality. While I thoroughly enjoyed the entire CD, my song favorites here are Love Is Blind, Slave and Wherever You May Go. I have already listened to this CD four times in its entirety, and each time I notice some other intricate detail that underlines the depth of this work and the effort put into it. For those music fans who are unfamiliar with David Coverdale, this is your opportunity to discover why many of us treasure his work. He is the flag bearer of the hard rock romantic.

NOT SACD Compatible

I admit...I'm ashamed of myself ! As long as I've collected music...I've ALWAYS researched before making a purchase...whether it's a new release...or an anthology. For Elton John's "Greatest Hits 1970-2002...I didn't...and my recommendation is that if you're a devoted Elton John fan....bypass this one ! It's incomplete in every area you can think of ! Refer to reviews here by people like Robert Hrycay and Dave O...I share their opinions as well !
Here's my list of problems .You have important hits missing here from the 70's and 80's...the sound quality isn't that great....and they fade out of songs that ended "cold" origionally...for example..."Daniel" ! I almost fell out of my chair....maybe an overreaction...but you don't physically alter classic songs (like the edited version of "Come Sail Away" by STYX that still "sails" around on radio occasionally)! Oh...and forget the so called "bonus disc"...I call it the "bogus disc"...that should have been used to make a more complete collection !
The less devoted Elton John fan will likely find this collection suitable...and the booklet included is nice...but we "diehards" should take Robert Hrycay's advice here and "burn" our own collection...or buy "To Be Continued" that you'll find on this site. You can even expand THAT collection on your own if you like. Fortunately I have some friends who like Elton's music enough to take this set off of my hands !
