Broaden your mind

Just because an album is different to what has been done before is no reason to condemn it. No, it's not "Ray of Light", & I for one am glad of that. She has never repeated herself & I hope she never does. I think this is one of her best albums ever. The music that stays with you the longest is not necessarily the stuff you like on first listen. (If you want that, buy a top 40 compilation.) However, Hollywood is as about as accessable as you can get, & Nothing Fails is a classic reminiscent of Like A Prayer. The more you listen the more you will enjoy it, & it will remain in your cd player permanently.

Not Pleased

I really like most anything Michael sings. However, when I first heard Motown I, I didn't like it and felt somewhat angry. Later, I realized that the source of my anger came from the realization that I would never hear many of the artists sing the song again because they were no longer with us. I did like Mike's arrangement for Since I Lost My Baby. When I heard Motown II was coming out, I wasn't happy AGAIN! The only cut I really like is Stop, Look, Listen with Toni Braxton. The second album smells a lot like, "exploitation!" Let it go, Mike. Just let it go. Let the songs stand on their own merit. They deserve it.

Shrill and annoying.

What a shame to see such a powerful group steadily decline with every release! The one good song on this album isn't enough to salvage it. Time to give it a rest, girls.

Furthermore, the hypocrisy of producing a song like "Cater 2 U" when their last album trumpeted their INDEPENDENCE is annoying at best, and insulting at worst. Any female fan of this particular song would have to lack any sense of self-worth to overlook it's blatant encouragement of the subjugation of women. No, ladies, you are not the property of the man you love, despite what your lyrics say.
