Some great grooves-- lacks originality.

This CD has many moments in which you just think, "this is EXACTLY what music is supposed to be." But those are moments. Too often Esthero seems to ride the wave that brought MONO and PORTISEHEAD into the limelight and produces depressing, emotionless dribble. I would DEFINITELY reccomend the CD, but I think it has room for improvement.

Greatest Hits not really the Greatest Hits?

When selecting tracks for a greatest hits album from an artist like Bruce Springsteen, the problem of missing songs is obvious. Those people who are longtime fans of Springsteen will easily be able to point out songs that they feel are missing from such a collection. However, the thing to remember is that this is a "greatest HITS" album.
Songs that were never released, while maybe being better than a song or two on this album, are automatically excluded because they were never HITS. Greatest hits albums are not for those people who have every album an artist ever released. They are for the radio fan who has maybe an album or two or none at all (I only own "Born in the USA")
With that being the selection criteria in mind, these are the songs that I would have chosen for this album (mostly). Being originally from New Jersey, I used to hear Jersey Girl on the radio a lot. I fully expected it to be included on this album.
The new songs on this album are good, not great. It is now obligatory that an artist include a few new tracks on a greatest hits album even if they are no better than average songs. The new songs are appreciated, but not necessary.
Listening to this album allows me to recognize the influence that Springsteen has had on many of the current crop of artists. The one group in particular that I hear Springsteen's influence in is Wallflowers. Oddly enough, Wallflowers is fronted by Jakob Dylan, the son of the man that most people compared Springsteen to when he burst on the scene in the early 70s.
This is a good album to get a feel for the various stages of Springsteen's career. The hardcore fan will probably be unhappy with it, but the casual radio fan will eat it up.

Title: Carnegie Hall Concert

Artist: Lenny Bruce

Best Bruce Album

This is easily the best Lenny Bruce CD available today. Many of the others (Lenny Bruce Originals) are censored so it is up to his few available live concerts to give us a real impression of Bruce.
This is electric -- Bruce is giving 100% and the audience is eating it up. I highly recommend this CD for fans or future fans of Bruce!
