a shame its out of print

Similar to its counterpart, this cd was a compilation from the German Sky Records label that showcased several tracks from the German duo Cluster, a solo effort from each of its members (Dieter Moebius, Hans-Joachim Roedelius), a track from Moebius, producer Conrad Plank, and former Guru Guru drummer Mani Neumeier, and 2 tracks from Eno's work with Cluster (tracks 3 & 7 on this cd).
As with the other cd, Eno's efforts with Cluster can be found on their 2 cds- "Cluster and Eno," and "After the Heat," both of which are bona fide classics. The shame here is that the other tracks on this cd are also on cds that are out of print currently- a chance to look into Grman synth music is lost in this case...
An excellent collection nonetheless..comes highly recommended should it come back in print (and I'm sure it will..Gyroscope Records who issued this re-issue in the mid 90's, is a very good label for such re-releases)

One Heart

This certainly was a major disappointment. I have always loved every song she has ever sung. What happened? I am not alone. Everyone I have discussed this with agrees. Something terrible has happened with her music. She has such a great voice when singing her ballads. She is right up there with Babs. She's sinking fast with the new producer. Bring back David Foster! These other guys are good, but not for her. Her special voice and talents are being neglected. There's nothing better than David Foster producing her songs as he knows how to bring out the best in her.

Jazz Giant "Meeting His Audience Halfway"

This is the John Coltrane album that I always knew was out there, but could never quite find. Beautiful, understated playing, that still maintains the rigors of his avant-garde style, without overwhelming the listener with a barrage of notes. Coltrane is in top form on these tunes, bringing his spiraling sensiblity down to an observable pace. This is the best of the trilogy of albums he did at this time, in which he spoke of trying to "meet the audience halfway, make something for the people." (The other two were the album he cut with Duke Ellington on piano, and the Johnny Hartman album.) McCoy Tyner is excellent, and Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones keep the momentum strong. The Bonus Disc is an excellent addition, a real treasure for Coltrane fans, letting them see into the process of the construction of these classic tunes with many alternate takes. All in all a must have for Trane fans.
