The best debut album....EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This album, is the Spice Girl's debut album, yes, the one that launched them off to MULTI-MULTI-MULTI-MULTI PLATINUM status! This album was released February 4, 1997 in the U.S., but released a bit before in the U.K. This album consides of 5 out 10 #1 hit singles. Thats a lot, hardly any singer/band/group has ever accomplished having half of their debut album's singlesgo to #1, or have all their singles released hit #1....we'll....the Spice Girls did just that, and become a greatrole model to everyone by simply not caring and to teach all to be proud and be who you are, and forget about what the public and others think of you. So, it would only be right for me to give you a review on all their singles released! Right?!
1) Wannabe: Summer 1996. The one that started it all! Excellent song!2) Say You'll Be There: Fall 1996. A great hit.3) 2 Become 1: The Spice Girl's 1st Christmas hit! Excellent Love song!4) Mama/Who Do You Think You Are: Released at the same time for Charity. Great songs. Mama= great love/thank you track to MOMS!!!! ;-) Who Do You Think You Are= GREAT DANCE TRACK!
All in all, this is a great album. One of my top 5 favorites ever, so far. I only wish music would be like it was in in the 90's, 2000, and 2001. Music, now, has gone sour....EXTREMELY SOUR, and any album with great taste like it was in the years I mention, only go gold or platinum once. :-(But, It will return again....and so will the Spice Girls with Ginger!!!!
My love to all upset fans and music lovers w/ taste

Nothing special

"A music fan" of August 14, 2002 has some valid points regarding the simplification of this music to accomodate Watson's range or the perception of the "average person's" decernment of what constitutes an operatic performance.
I have enjoyed listening to classical music literally all of my life as my father loves classical music and is a pianist. In addition, I discovered opera in my adult life, with a definite preference for the Italian operas.
While it is most likely that Russell Watson did not study opera or Italian for years, his natural talent is remarkable. His music is beautiful, and Watson does a commendable job presenting it to us in his fashion. I thoroughly enjoy his music for what it is, for who he is, and the joy he shares when he shares his God-given gift with us.
Someone may discover the beauty of a song by Verde or Puccini here, where they might not have had exposure to it otherwise.

Best Sounding Reissue of this title

Let's face it this is one of Coltrane's best albums when he was younger. Needless to say this record has been reissued 6-7 times on LP and CD. This is the first time it has been issued on SACD and the Original Master Recording engineers did a wonderful job. Even the sound on the CD layer is so much better than all the other versions that I own of this disc whether it be LPs or CDs. I don not have the special SACD player yet, but the sound on the regular CD layer of this Orignal Master is soooo buttery smooth. Coltranes sax just oozes out of the speakers. Totally worth the extra money! If you want great Coltrane this is the one to get.

The most thoughtful recording ever made

This is going to put a lot of people's noses out of joint but I would venture to say that of all the various CSN/CSNY/solo/CPR/Stills and Young Band/Manassas albums this is the greatest.

Simply put, I think it's a timeless and quite beautiful recording. Played faultlessly and with utter conviction you can sense the spontaneity and creative frission in the room this was recorded in. If music isn't ultimately about a bunch of people or a person expressing their deepest thoughts (however that may be) then what is it about? this is great art and is crosby's greatest work - alongside guninnevere, lady friend, everybody's been burned and renaissance fair and triad

i was lying on a hillside in italy two summers ago and i fell asleep in an olive grove as this played quietly on my headphones - as the gentle 'laughing' segued into another song, segueing into the purest, most angelic crosby vocal put down ever - on the exquisite 'traction in the rain' i felt happy and relaxed. for all his faults, you get the feeling that there were times when he really was one of the best songwriters in the world. often sad and angry and sometimes pensive and thoughtful and even funny, this glorious album demonstates Crosby's versatility and talent.

and 'Song with no Words' onwards is such a great way to bring an album to a close. great harmonies, greta playing and great songs - a well deserved five out of five. please listen and give it a chance.
