Simply pure. If you are a roots fan, you must expose yourself to the soul and sound of this band. And if they ever come as close as 180 miles from your doorstep, get in the car and see 'em live. I've seen them twice at the The Middle East in Cambridge, MA and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Anxiously waiting for more!See Hillside Airstrip by 10 FT Ganja Plant as well. JBB appears along with other friends. More continuous, phat vibes squeezed into that one. Why wait? Throw that one into your cart as well.

Title: Pure Moods, Vol. 3

Great mix

Things just seem to have gone downhill since the first Pure Moods album. This new compilation has hardly any energy or appeal. Moby's Porcelain is a worthy inclusion, but some of the other tracks are just dull. Silk Road just seems to rechannel the theme from the Last Emperor, from the first Pure Moods. I think that instead of sticking to "New Age", this album should have ventured to include what you wouldn't normally think to include in a Pure Moods album. How about something from the soundtrack to Run Lola Run? The truth is that the people behind the Pure Moods albums have already mined the best of New Age music, and are not daring enough to stray from the formula. That's a shame

Extremely tight CD

The Automator's follow up to Dr. Octagon, featuring superstar virtuosi Del tha Funkee Homosapien and Kid Koala, might seem at first a bit too conttrived to be great. Especially hearingthe incredible Del spitting out space freak lyrics in the persona of "Deltron Zero"or whatever. But in the end, Del's flow is so mightyand distinctive, the Automator's programming so insistenty surprising, and Koala's turntablism so innocently masterful, that it's hard to quibble too much. Deltron 3030 is far more than Octagon's lesser cousin. And although it will never replace the original by any stretch of the imagination, it earns its place in the hiphop canon on its own terms.

Title: Elton John - Greatest Hits 1970-2002

Great compillation encompassing 3 labels!

While Michael Jackson rather embarrasingly coined himself the "King of Pop", said self-serving creation would better serve Sir Elton John if there truly were such a "title". Although this collection does not get a perfect score from me, it is a very good representation of the masses of hits that Elton John had from 1970-2002. And I am sure that there are more to come.
This 2 CD set is well priced and there is a plethora of goodies to be found in the inserts. Some artists find it impossible to fit their hits into one CD, much less two. Elton could have easily gone for three CDs. Most of the great songs are here and they sound great. In a nutshell, this release is the one to buy if you are a casual Elton John fan.
Notwithstanding the fact the I believe that this is a great release, like many fans when it comes to artists they have followed, they find the faults even as they enjoy what is on the menu. For example, where is:
1) "Funeral For A Friend"/Love Lies Bleeding";2) "Harmony;3) "Border Song";4) "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds";5) "Blue Eyes";6) "Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters"
The list can go on and some may correctly point out that this is a 2 CD set and it should be representative of Elton's career as per the title. However, I could have done without the two selections from "Songs From The West Coast" as they sound out of place to me and although I think that the duet with Leann Rimes is nice, to ignore the aforementioned and many others makes me give this 4 stars instead of 5. Elton John the artist gets a 5, especially if you'd had the chance to see him in concert at almost anytime during his career.
Side bar: Although this does not affect my rating the set also includes an extra compact disc that does nothing for me so I just dicarded it. I wish that instead of "Candle In The Wind (Live)" and "Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me" (With George Michael) and others, this extra CD would have gone into the catalogue to find loved songs that may not have been conventional hits. But this is a non-issue. Enjoy the set!
