Plays her violin with passion

I first heard of Lara's work with the Giga piece of the Partita, and I was blown away. I happened to have a copy of Hillary Hahn's version of the same piece and St. John's was superior by far. Comparing the two, Lara St. John puts much more emotion into the Partita and it's noticeable. If you don't believe me, compare the two at your local CD store yourself! I've even went so far as to compare the same interpretations by Perlman and Heifetz and still found St. John's more moving. Lara St. John gets a lot of flak for her risque cover, but please don't judge the CD by that. Lara is amazing with her violin and I believe the new generation of classical musicians such as herself, Hillary Hahn, Yevgeny Kissin, Joshua Bell, etc. are taking classical music to a new level. An excellent CD for any classical music collection.

A Triumph Of The Human Spirit

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have returned with a remarkable album, "The Rising". Spirited by the horrific events of 9/11, the Boss and his bandmates deliver a musically uplifting and spiritual take on events that shaped our futures forever. Springsteen's music on "The Rising" never wavers from it's ultimate message that by digging deeply within the soul one can manage to find the courage and the wisdom to move in a positive direction and stare down those who intend to bring our society to it's knees. From the opening track "Lonesome Day", and concluding with the opus, "My City In Ruins", Springsteen and the E Street Band score a five star masterpiece, perhaps their finest musical achievement ever recorded.

It's New Order.....how bad can it be?

I've only listened to this CD a few times but my ears definetely like it! It's true, there is no song on here like "true faith" or "touched by the hand of god", but there are no songs that I would skip. Bottom line, I'm just glad New Order is still around putting out great music.

Getting better with every new record

I've discovered "A medio vivir" during my hols in Spain and since then Ricky Martin has captured my heart. I love the way he sings, in Spanish or in English. The new CD is great, it contains something of everything. I mean songs for dancing, songs for easy listening and songs for romantic hours. Apart from "Livin' la Vida Loca" I love the duet "Private Emotions" with Meja. Have a look at the text and you'll see what I mean. Ricky, keep going this way! I love your music!
