A few strong songs, but disappointing overall

All I can say is, WoW! This is a great album. Mariah really stunned me with this one! I was blown away by the ballads on this cd. "Lead The Way" is one of Mariah's best songs yet. It's a classic Mariah ballad. "Reflections (Care Enough)" is also a nice slow song which fits in with the movie perfectly, but I must say the best ballad on this album is "Never Too Far". Very powerful ballad. Mariah's voice has never sounded better than on "Never Too Far". I also love Mariah's uptempo 80's tracks on "Glitter". "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On" is a classic, funky uptempo 80's cover. "All My Life" is a great dance track! I like how Mariah's voice on this track is sassy, and mellow. Another song with an 80's sound is the dance jam "Want You" featuring Eric Benet. It's a little similar to "All My Life" but "Want You" is much stronger vocally. "Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)" is not one of the greatest songs on "Glitter" but not that bad. Rapper Mystikal dominates this track but towards the end Mariah blows us away with that voice of hers. Great party song! One of the really catchy songs on "Glitter" is "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life." I Love this song! It's one of my favorite songs on this album. It features Fabolous, and Busta Rhymes who just blaze up the track with there rhymes and Mariah just tops it off with her great voice. Ja Rule and Nate Dogg are also featured on "Glitter" in the song "If We". It's a nice slow jam. Many people compare it to J.Lo's "I'm Real(Remix)" but it's a much better song. My most favorite song on this album ofcourse is "Loverboy". I love the remix and the album cut. It's a great catchy track. This song is a sample of Cameo's "Candy" which fit Loverboy perfectly. Overall, this is one of Mariah's most glittering albums yet... "Glitter" is a must have!

Now 16 is AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever I buy a complilation CD, I am hoping that it accomplishes two goals. Needless to say, Now That's What I Call Music! 16 does both. THese are my goals:

1. That the music on the album be somewhat unusual or unknown, so that the compilation introduces me to songs I might not otherwise hear. NTWICM!16 does this quite brilliantly. Had I not purchased this cd, I'm not sure I would have ever heard this indie Outkast tune, "Hey Ya!" for example. I also like that because of the unusual and eclectic nature of the offerings on NTWICM!16, people who hear me playing it think I must know a lot about music and have very refined, individual tastes. It's a great impression management tool.

2. I also enjoy compilation cds that have a smooth streaming from one song to the next, so that they could almost be a true album. That is, I like it when the mood deliberately progresses through the songs to create an integrated feel. NTWICM!16 clearly works hard to transition between songs that flow well together. It makes perfect sense that Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman" would appear on the same cd as Beennie Man's "Duuuude." Perfect sense. What a great job the NTWICM! crew did making a seamlessly integrated "album."

In addition to my two usual goals with compilation albums, I also love the NTWICM! series because they make songs available that are otherwise very difficult to find. You won't usually hear the NTWICM! songs on radio play or find them in the iTunes Music Store. Nope, only on these exclusive type cds. It's really amazing that they don't charge upwards of thirty dollars for these great cds.

Grease wouldn't be Grease without these songs!

I love this movie, but I think it wouldn't be as great without the music. This is a CD I listen to frequently and enjoy it each time!

Uhhhh....Just another Britney album...

Is that what she calls maturity??? It's the same over produced CRAP, and no SUBSTANCE WHATSOEVER...I was expecting to be shocked like when I listened to Aguilera's Stripped, but hell no...It's the same Britney.
