not the same

Even die hard fans will have trouble with this one. Short on energy, horns and lead guitar, the album is like sleep walking through a Steely Dan dream. Does middle age need to be so boring? It's Fagen's distinctive voice and hints of Becker's stellar guitar, but it's not the same..

Even Better

How do you improve on an already great album, you remaster it and include two very good remixes that were not included on the non-remastered version. That's what Madonna accomplished on the remastered album, "True Blue", this album was already great when it was released in 1986, but now the remastered version once again captures the magic of the original album, and also making it even better with the remixes of "True Blue", and "La Isla Bonita", now listed as tracks 10 and 11, respectively, both remixes are great, I liked both equally. Now I have both original and remastered versions I plan to buy the remastered versions of "Madonna" & "Like A Virgin", this was a great idea Madonna had and on "True Blue", the album and songs on the album holds up very well, even 15 years after its original release, once again Madonna does no wrong.

Powerfully emotional.

I first bought the 5-record boxed set in '85, but only recently bought the CD set. The vinyl set put chills to my spine when I first bought it, but because of its length, it didn't get played much. Even now, it is powerfully emotional and repeatedly sends chills to my spine - like no other recording(s) in my collection! I really feel like Bruce is giving me a piece of himself, and the music is simply awesome. This set is on my "stuck on a desert island and I only have 10 CDs" list, and I'm not saying this because I'm a huge Springsteen fan - my only other Springsteen CD is "Born To Run". This is the music that Bruce will be forever remembered for.

A More Mature Star Wars Score

John Williams has done it again, showing he's today's greatest soundtrack composer. The new themes are really exciting (Duel of the Fates, Anakyn's theme), the action music exhilarating (especially Panaka...), the light music funny (Jar Jar, Augie's band) and the references to the previous films'scores subtle and wise. The missing star is for the end titles. Where are those greats overtures of the original trylogy? Just repeating the two main themes in its entirety is not what we expected of Williams' genius. Anyway, waiting for a Special Edition with the complete score.
