Steely Dan needs rhythm energy

I have been a "DanFan" for way over 25 years. When I heard "Pretzel Logic" and " Katy Lied" I was blown away for months and years! I was very excited to know these two were releasing a new album after all these years. Again, the melodies and chord progressions and moods created here are superb but why did they have the drummers sound like drum machines? God,it makes the whole darn thing lifeless!!! Their songs on this album would benefit with some creative and energetic drumming rather than the stupid, meaningless plodding playing evidenced here. So what that they matched the click track? The drum tracks suck all the life out of these songs. Darn!!!!

Don't Get Me Wrong

SuperSean reviews... Christina Aguilera's "Stripped"
I always review albums months after purchasing them so I can give an unbiased opinion. I hope this one will help.
If you're making a list of the best pop albums of 2003, Christina Aguilera's "Stripped" would have to be on your Top 3. Not only is each song strong on it's own and a potential single, but on a whole, these songs compliment each other and you think of this album more as one long song than just 20 individual songs. When I first heard/saw the video for the first single "Dirrty," I was very close to shutting my mind off towards ever purchasing an Aguilera album ever. Thank God I didn't. The shock of seeing the new Christina made people turn heads, and now that she's got everyone's attention, she can show what kind of artist she truly is. Not only a great singer, but an amazing writer! Who knew that in that little blonde head of hers there was room to truly and eloquently verbalize such deep emotions. In songs such as Walk Away, Make Over, Fighter and Underappreciated, you can literally feel the desperation in her voice. However, songs such as Soar and The Voice Within, although brilliantly written/sung/produced, the message of being one's self and breaking free from society's rules can get a little tedious. We understand already what Christina Aguilera is about through songs like Can't Hold Us Down and Beautiful, she didn't have to overdue it. Keep On Singing My Song, lyrically, mirrors Mariah Carey's "Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)" to such a perfection, it makes me cringe. Yet, the brilliance of the album completely overshadows that minor imperfection and you learn to enjoy the songs no matter how redundant they may seem. With this album, Christina Aguilera makes it known that she is hear to stay, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If this don't make your booty move, your booty must be dead!

After completing her 1987 WHO'S THAT GIRL tour, Madonna dropped this - the first-ever remix collection.
Assembling first-rate album tracks/club hits like "Everybody", "Over And Over", and "Where's The Party", Madonna had everybody joining her on the dancefloor in an extended bump-and-grind session.
Always remaining fresh, she began the album with the inspirational "Spotlight", an outtake from 1986's TRUE BLUE album.

Sweet and Mellow

I borrowed this CD from a friend and immediately had to get a copy of my own. I had never really listened to any solo work of Gilmour, but I fell in love with this at first listen. It is just soothing guitar music. 'Raise My Rent' is my favorite track, I also love 'Theres No Way Out Of Here'. If you're expecting a Pink Floydish-sounding album that's more stripped-down this is the one. Its very easy on the ears!
