fumble on the goal line

try as he might, bruce willis can't sing or carry a tune...something some people consider important in a music career. Two stars only because it's nice to see (and hear) the Temtations again, too bad they are reduced to singing back up to this posser.

Not that bad..

Being a fan that "needs it all" I just had to check it out. Its not going to make you stand up and scream AAAAAWW YEAH but its well done and the music lends itself to this interpitation. Check out the studio stuff first, but chances are that if you are looking here its because you want it all. Not terrible..but a good listen.

Grateful for the pleasure

David Campbell is one of the best talents Australia has unleashed on the world. Those of us lucky enough to have seen him act in his early career knew there was an exceptional talent in the making--when we heard him sing--WOW! "Taking the wheel" is a much more contemporary CD than the first, the addition of pure adult pop like Don Walker's "It will always be you" has added an extra bow to this remarkable singer's repetoire(any one has seen him live recently will know a bit of rock is now thrown in as well)and his versions of "yard sale" and "bridge over troubled water" are outstanding. If only the full story to "Grateful" could be included on the album notes, as its also a wonderful song & story. When one remembers that this guy is only in his mid-twenties, all we can say is that he will be with us for a long time, and hope that he won't be lost to Australia completely. I look forward to the third album in the not too distant future.

I like it, and no, i'm not a teenybopper

I don't listen to and don't like the Backstreet Boys, Britney, Cristina A., Mandy Moore, and 98 Degrees, No Authority. I once HATED *N SYNC. So why am I giving 4 stars to "No Strings Attached"? It all happened innocently enough about a month ago; I was doing my math homework at my desk, listening to the radio. "We've been getting tons of requests for this: Here's new stuff from *N SYNC", the DJ suddenly said and "Bye Bye Bye" followed. Instead of knocking my stereo off of my desk stand in disgust, I decided to listen and see what kind of annoying song they have out now. After the song was over, I slowly and quietly turned off my radio and let out a cry of anguish; I liked the song.
"No Strings Attached" is different, for a chenge. It is more hip-hop and alternative pop than teeny pop. It is original from all those good-looking white people that dance and don't write their own songs. Backtreet Boys' two CDs sound the same and so Britney Spears' two CDs. But *N SYNC really improved on their sound, giving their music a techno and hip-hop flavor to it (and I am a huge fan of techno -- Fatboy Slim, DJ Rap, Madonna, and, the ruler of them all, Bjork). And, believe it or not, they co-wrote some of their songs.
"It's Gonna Be Me", "Digital Get Down", "Space Cowboy", and "Bye Bye Bye" (for some reason I can never get tired of that song) are the dance songs that I like the best. I especially like the rap that Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes does on "Space Cowboy", being the huge TLC fan I am. "This I Promise You" is a really beautiful and romantic song; it's my favorite slow song on here. "Just Got Paid", "Bringin' Da Noise", and "It Makes Me Ill" kind of get on my nerves, but they're okay.
I love how they changed their style of music and I hope that their future music is more like this. There are only 3 three things that bother me though: 1) Most of the reviews are complimenting on the guy's look, not their sound. 2) Justin and JC do have great vioces, but it can of bothers me that they're usually the lead singers. 3) Justin's hair. But the 60's style is coming back, you know, so maybe the 70's are, too.
