Title: A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular
Label: Sony
Artist: Hooverphonic
Rating: 5/5
Customer rating - 5 out of 5
Trip Hop and so much more!

Hooverphonic is incessantly compared to Portishead, but the comparison really only holds for the big single off this disk, 2Wicky. Next to Portishead, Hooverphonic has better grooves and isn't quite as dark, angry, or strained. This disc is really closer to Massive Attack's newer stuff (off Mezzanine) than anything from Portishead. Like their second album, this disc provides a wide range of musical styles and influences. Hooverphonic shows more drum'n'bass influence than most other acts classified as "trip hop," as well as more instrumentation and depth of sound. Besides, Liesje (the vocalist on this album) has an incredible voice. Here's the bottom line--buy this. If you liked the second album, buy this. If you like Massive Attack, buy this. :-)

Could Have Been SOOOO Much Better!

Of all the CD's I have listened to, I have found this version of the musical to be my favorite. Every singer has a different voice quality that empahiszes their character's personality. Fantine's voice is soft and motherly while Cosette's voice is young and beautiful while Eponine's voice is emotional and strong as she belts "On My Own." For the "highlights" CD, a think the International version is the best!

1. Crazy In Love | At first it took me a long time to like this song but now that it's played on the radio all the time I don't listen to it at all. 2. Naughty Girl | A least favorite but it seems like a song that would do good as a single 3. Baby Boy | I really do like this song. It has a nice beat to it and beyonce sounds really good. 4. Hip Hop Star | I don't like this song. 5. Be With You | I don't really like this one either6. Me, Myself And I | I like this song, one of my favorites. I love the beat. It's a relaxing song. 7. Yes | This was at first my favorite song on the cd. I love the beat and the melody to the song, beyonce did the dang thang. 8. Signs | I like this song, it has a little twist to it and I like it alot. 9. Speechless | A great love making song. 10. That's How You Like It | One of my favorites, it has a nice beat to it. It has a summer vibe to it. 11. The Closer I Get To You | It's a nice song but it didn't go with the album. 12. Dangerously In Love 2 | I really do love this song but she should of left it on survivor, or at least did a whole different beat to it. 13. Beyonc? Interlude 14. Gift From Virgo | A really really nice song, I think it could be my favorite.15. Daddy | What a nice song. Man, it's really deep. Her dad really did do alot for her, and she is really lucky to not only have a dad but a MOM like that.
