Woah!......This is one brilliant record!

I dare say this is the best album I have heard so far this year. Having not have heard any previous material by any of the people involved with this project, it really was a true breath of fresh air! Even though i've only owned it for a few days i'm suprised my cd player hasn't burned a hole in it yet.
Every song is a unique little gem unto itself. I normally listen to artists like skinny puppy, autechre, broadcast etc, and at first it really caught me off guard. I wasn't used to hearing such well crafted little electronic ditties that were not only pop conscious but didn't have any watered down substance to them at all. The lyrics are fantastic and the melodies are simply amazing. Almost like a cross between ladytron and they might be giants at their best.
All the songs are written with vintage synthesizers and drum machines, which adds an even more unique vibe to an already wonderful listening experience. All the songs are straight up verse/chorus/verse and so forth, but I am still struck at how ... catchy they are! If these guys don't own a summer home in malibu by the time this album has been out a year, I think i'm going to boycott the music industry for the rest of my life. MAKE MORE!

Disappointing - if you'll notice the details

First, the track arrangemnt dosen't make any sense. Second, this CD contains pieces that were CUT OFF, and lacks so much of the finalized soundtrack found in the movie. Just listen to the first track "Arrival at Naboo" and then compare it to the movie. Listen to "The Droid Invasion" (my favorite piece in the movie) and compare it to the movie, it's different on the CD!. SOME OF THE GOOD MATERIAL WAS LEFT OUT, and the order of the tracks does not match the sequence in the movie.
It seems they had made this CD before the movie was even edited. Although it has the music on it, this CD was a complete disappointment for me, and if you'll notice the details - I'm sure you will agree with me.

Title: Silverado: Original Motion Picture Sound Track
Label: Intrada

Great western music.

The music is great fun and tells the story of Silverado as well as the movie does. The music contains all the good western elements: right vs. wrong, romantic moves, celebration of victory, and riding off into the sunset. You can hear the fun of Kevin Costner as Jake, the dry humor of Kevin Kline as Paden, the moral fight of Danny Glover as Mal, and the heroics of Scoot Glenn as Emmett. Great barbecue and house-cleaning music.
