Title: Remixed & Revisited [EP]
Label: Warner Brothers
Artist: Madonna
Rating: 2/5
Customer rating - 2 out of 5 have talent....USE IT!!

Madonna may not be the greatest vocalist in the world, but she always showed a lot of passion and personality in her voice, as well as wrote thoughtful lyrics. Unfortunately, we have not seen Madonna use her talents these past couple years. This EP is only there to remind us about the disaster known as American Life. Listen, I'm a die hard Madonna fan too...but I will NOT deny that she has gone off track.

Like a soundtrack to a space-travel dream

What Ray Bradbury has done with pen, ink, and paper to put every breath of romanticism, intrigue, and philosophical imagination into space exploration, Brian Eno has done with music.
Eno has achieved nearly every effect of his abilities from subtle cosmological synth rhythms to full-blown bluesy, almost country-like emotional guitar riffs making the idea of space travel all that much more covetable... to me, at least :)
He expresses the simple presence--what it is like to simply just exist on the surface of another planet--with slow, peaceful grids of repetitive hypnotizing textures through most of the album. "Signals" takes your head into the slow ethers of radio bleeps through the blackness of space, and "Stars" and the two "Under Stars" tracks seem like sitting in a lawn chair with a glass of space punch on the moon. And of course, "Ending (Ascent)", to me, perfectly orchestrates the certain subconsciously disturbing risks of shooting off the moon for the return to earth--peaceful and quiet whether Armstrong and his crew made it off the surface, or if, hypothetically, that malfunction went all the way to let them be the first to rest in eternal peace in the quiet dust. Of course, that's my individual interpretation. You'll have to hear it for yourself. It's probably more enjoyable without trying to interpret everything and just sit back with it on. I'd review more but there's a 1,000 word limit.
Just as Laguardia Airport in New York had one time looped Ambient 1: Music for Airports on their loudspeakers, every observatory and space museum should do with Apollo.

"over three hours of music on 54 tracks ~ a Bond bullseye"

This Silva Screen compilation is the complete collection to the label's previous collections of the most famous Secret Agent themes to grace the big screen. "The Name Is Bond, James Bond"! Our larger-than-life hero has appeared in many forms over the years - Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan - all capable actors with an aire of the ultimate confidence in saving the world. To assist our hero in this assignment are various composers, including David Arnold, John Barry, Bill Conti, Marvin Hamlisch, Michael Kamen, Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, George Martin, Monty Norman and Eric Serra, all of whom have attained immortality and classic status in film scoring.
Monty Norman composed the famous "James Bond Theme," but it was John Barry who gave it the final polish with his new arrangement for recognized world wide as the most popular movie theme ever. Barry created a new twist for the James Bond theme itself, as heard in "This Never Happened to the Other Fella", an arrangement to end all arrangements from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" ~ the cornerstone of this film score is the love theme "We Have All the Time in the World", is tragically and ironically meant for the ultimate Bond girl, whom Bond will spend the rest of his life, until she meets her ultimate fate.
Nic Raine, who has worked with Elmer Bernstein, Maurice Jarre, George Fenton, Gerald Gouriet and Stanley Myers, was passionate when he orchestrated "A View to a Kill" and "The Living Daylights" for John Barry. Raine conducted the City of Prague Philharmonic for these Bond compilations.
This latest album "The James Bond Collection" is a faithful and outstanding interpretation of Bond music, taking the form of suites which incorporate the best action cues from the franchise, including some material not previously available. Raine adapted and changed the material where necessary for the demands of a 75-piece orchestra. Fellow music-lovers, this is a "film-score-buffs" dream come run out and satisfy your cravings for action, adventure and romance with yours and my favorite secret agent ~ JAMES BOND, gotta love it!

I only wish I had bought it sooner.

The world needs more albums like this. I am fairly new to the bluegrass folk genre, but David's extraordinary playing and vocals reach out and draw the listener in. When I purchased the disc, I knew only two of the songs - "Stone Soup" and "Bringing Daddy Home". But the rest of the tunes held right up to my hopes and exceeded my expectations. How often does that happen? David and a range of guest performers create a very full sound on each track, with honest lyrics that cut through the [junk] in a way most songs cannot.
Suffice to say, I highly recommend this disc!
