If you don't like this, go check your pulse

Ahoy hoy Ok, I am into Manson/Deicide stuff, but damn, this CD is GREAT! When I got this, I just wanted Brick House and Super Freak. I listened to it and the whole CD was great. Since then, I have gotten Commodores, Isaac Hayes, Average White Band... and these guys have a much more challenging style of drumming I can practice to! I Recommend to EVERYONE.

The BEST of classic Elton John

After being an Elton fan for over 30 years, I had forgotten how absolutely wonderful this albumn was. I just purchased this CD and have played it at least 15 times in the past day. "My Father's Gun" is on now, for the 10th time in a row, and what a wonderful tribute it is to all that Elton loved as a kid. He frequently talked about his love for American music especially blues and real early rock n'roll music. This CD takes me back to seeing him in concert in the early 70's when his music was really music and not just commercial successes. Empty Sky was his first entry heard on the rock stations but it wasn't until the hauntingly yet popular "Your Song" that we became familiar with the quality of Elton and Bernie Taupin's work.
But THIS albumn was when you could clearly hear the strength of Elton's voice and the incredible background musicians (what ever happened to Caleb Quaye?). Even the background vocalists are superb, including Dusty Springfield who could really belt it out (listen to her on "Pulp Fiction for those who think she is an old timer). If you are anything of an Elton John fan, then you MUST own this CD. This is the EJ that we know who later became such a commercial success. I just wish that I could go back to the 12 times I saw him in the 70's when he actually sang these songs(he does sing Burn down the mission on "11-17-70 live).
If you have teenagers or know anyone who is now "discovering" music of the 60's, have them listen to this. Really terrrific music, lyrics and I dare you to keep still while you are listening to some of these songs(yes, I have listened to "my father's gun again!!). Oh how I long for these music days! Enjoy!

Magnificent Collection!

Bruce released 18 Tracks for those who may have not been able to afford a pricey 4 disk set or for those who wanted to get a taste of what the set was all about. To make it worth the while for those who already bought the box set, he has included three additional songs. Any longtime Bruce fan will want to pick this up for his version of "The Fever". He gave the song to Southside Johnny for his debut album, this version is among the best songs he's ever done. Unfortunately, "The Promise" is a newly recorded version, not the one from '78, but this three songs make this a must for any Bruce completist.

Moving and Tranquil

I agree with the reviewer who said that this album is ambient and not trance. If it was trance, the beats per minute would be at least 128 bpm. I think the only fault of Orbit's "Pieces in Modern Style" is that it is a bit slow otherwise I love what I heard. I especially dig the remixes by ATB and Ferry Corsten, they embody what trance is. Granted that songs like "Adagio for Strings" were a bit long and slow, they are perfect to relax to.
