A big thank-you to fans from the Boss.

Many of these songs have been heard through bootlegs, B-sides, or concerts before, but the Boss finally let a few out of the career-spanning vaults with the release of this excellent 4 CD set. Forget any talk of what is not here. Simply enjoy these terrific songs from one of the best rock and roll writers and performers. Many of these will stick in your head like so many of Bruce's other songs. As a whole, this a great set of long-hoped for releases that you will enjoy for itself and keep you going back to Bruce's other albums to relive that magic.

Organ jazz, Scofield style

Last night I went late to the jazz festival here. I didn't want to go but Scofield was there. I had trouble finding him at first as he was not on the main stage. I had to walk down a trail through some woods to a clearing to find Scof and the band grooving in the night for a small but very appreciative crowd of devotees.
I can't give you the exact feeling from last night. I'll never forget it. Everyone was animated because you just gotta move when music is that good. It was all smiles and enthusiasm. Scof has very devoted followers and if you dig his music I'm sure you know why. There's something almost spiritual about his music and the way he presents a man on a mission.
He's relentless in hunting down that elusive next creation that scurries away if it finds you looking at it before it's fully created. A Scofield show will almost surely be successful in this as John insists.
If you go to a Scofield concert and don't of a sudden discover you're ! floating a few feet above the bodies of the crowd, you need to unwind. He sends me man.
This album has some of the flavor of the concert I saw in the woods last night. Scofield lets the other players fully develope their own insights on each tune then picks through them to find the materials to build the next structure to hang the song on.
Scof is a master of improv and especially with this sort of coffee house band he really lets it hang out. Often I am reminded of Ornette Coleman or John Coletrane when Scof takes the long way from point a to point b. No straight lines here.

Very much better than the first two...

This soundtrack is the best so far. John Williams outdid himself...The music is more varied and more complex than the previous 2 CD's. His use of instruments has expanded and the melodies are reflective of the darker and more powerful themes in Harry Potter #3. I rarely buy soundtracks because there are usally only a few tracks I enjoy, but I recommend this one highly...I plan on playing Double Trouble during Halloween next year...Too bad ther isn't an extended version of that tune!
Can't wait to see the movie again after listening to the soudntrack. This is fantastic!!

this album is horrificly overated

... It is absolutely horrible. I really do not understand at all why people like it so much. The songs are annoying, unoriginal, and just plain boring. This is just extremely uncreative pop rock featuring a not too good band and annoying singing. Maybe you'll like this album, but just listen to it before buying.
