Let this CD take you places you only dream of.

I have waited for an album to come out like this. A sublime collection of songs that not only move you with their ethereal sounds but actually transport you to a place beyond your imagination. I think that's what good music can do--just like a great movie or an involving book--actually expand your previous ways of thinking. KELLY WATCH THE STARS is an otherwordly song that carries you along on it's smooth, sensual, but way far-out rhythm. REMEMBER makes you feel what it must of been like to have been on the dance floor at 4:00 in the morning at Studio 54. If you want an album that is utterly unique and that could literally give you goosebumps the first time you hear it, then buy this CD--BUY IT NOW!

Title: Cabaret: The New Broadway Cast Recording (1998 Broadway Revival)
Label: RCA
Artist: John Kander, Fred Ebb

A delightful, dark, wonderfully gloomy production of a broadway classic. Alan Cumming is a shining black pearl in his performance as the Emcee. And Natasha Richardson glows as Sally. This a recording that no one should miss

David's Means To Gaining His Largest 80's Audience

With it's intoxicating multi-cultural textures blended into a bed of synth pop, David Bowie's 1983 classic Let's Dance had reached a blockbuster peak for Bowie by the mid 80's. It was enough of a commercial success that he soon was filling football stadiums.
Let's Dance was first and foremost a transitional effort from Bowie's art rock days. It was more pop friendly than albums like Lodger and Scary Monsters.
Nile Rodgers, who produced the album, brought in the rhythm section of his band Shiek. The title track has an enthusiastic, timeless quality to it. Modern Love, China Girl, and Criminal World were also great. The videos went into heavy rotation on MTV. Duran Duran soon imitated Bowie's success with the Nile Rodger's produced single "The Reflex." Roger's also produced Peter Gabriel's 1984 song "This is the Picture"
The album wasn't really about anything particular as much as an excuse for Bowie to celebrate his time with his young son Zowie after winning his custody from a divorce with Angela and his conquering of his past drug use. Even though the songwriting has slipped somewhat, Let's Dance is not Davids top 80's album, but is his most memorable album of the 80's.
