Classic Fogelberg

This was not only one of Dan's most commercially successful albums, spawning a couple of hit singles ("Longer" reached No.2) , it also happens to be one of his best albums."Longer" I suspect must be regarded as one of the weaker songs on the album, despite its fame as Dan's highest charting single ever. I prefer the gentle, lilting "Gypsy Wind" and the catchy "Last to Know". Interesting melodies abound on the album, the hallmark of Dan's early work, and his soaring vocals and close harmonies are used to excellent effect. From simple songs like "Along the Road" to the more ambitious "Wishing on the Moon", the songs on "Phoenix" gel together into a fine whole, with perhaps only the rather forced conscience of "Face the Fire" grating. If you were to get only one Fogelberg album you could do much worse than this one.

This is Pure Music Genious

I was always a fan of John Lennon. I started off with the Beatles but then I started listening to John Lennon alone. I realized that when he's alone he gets to express himself more. The genious behing this album is pure greatness. "Imagine" the song is probably the greatest song of all time.

Everyday I have to listen to atleast one or two songs on this CD so then I'm ready for the day. When I have a bad day, I have to listen to Imagine because it makes me think how if none of the things in the world existed there may be peace.

I everyone in the world listened to Imagine everyday, there would be peace in the world. They should get rid of rap because it talks about killing people. John Lennon really makes you think with the songs. He's better without The Beatles because Paul McCartney just wrote songs people would like, not to make people think. The inteligence behind John's songs are remarkable. I give this CD a perfect score.

A FULL CD of Great Madonna Music

This album, now ten years old, is still a great listen. Even though Madonna is the queen of shock, she still has a lot of God given talent to write and sing songs. This collection shows that. I've read reviews that say she didn't put all of her hits onto this album, but how could she? She has had too many great songs for one CD and she was smart to put the best ones on it making it cheaper to buy as a single disc.
Lots of the songs here are remade from the original and I think they are all better than the originals except "Into The Groove", which was better as the original. Two new songs found a home including "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me", both being good songs. "Justify My Love", was the song that brought Madonna into her "Sex" era of the early 90's. The song was good but had some contraversial lyrics and the video was banned from MTV because of some nudity. Overall though this album is an excellent value and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to her Madonna of the 1980s.
