BETTER THAN IRON MAIDEN!

Chemical Wedding (1998.) Bruce Dickinson's fifth solo album.
Bruce Dickinson's solo career, up until 1998, had been going great for him. Sure, he didn't have half the audience that he had during his Maiden days, but what he did have was a musical styling that pleased a select group of fans. Maiden, on the other hand, had been sinking to new lows. Guitarist Janick Gers and vocalist Blaze Bayley had been taking a lot of heat from fans, who felt that these two artists had ruined the classic Iron Maiden sound. Because of this, Maiden lost many fans, and many of them began to follow Bruce as a solo artist rather than Maiden. Bruce released his fifth solo album, Chemical Wedding, in 1998. Read on for my review.
I'll put this in the simplest terms possible. If you liked Bruce Dickinson's solo album that immediately preceeded this one, Accident At Birth, you're going to like this one as well. Once again, Bruce has managed to fuse his classic solo artist sound with the classic Maiden sound, and the end results are stunning. He has again managed to create an album that is more Maiden-esque than the actual Iron Maiden was at the time! It's also interesting to note that Bruce's former Iron Maiden guitar-playing comrade, Adrian Smith, appears on this album! It was the departure of these two men that caused so many people to lose their interest in Maiden, and on this solo album of Bruce's, you can hear both of them together again! This, my friends, is the way that nineties-style heavy metal should sound.
Currently (as of June 9, 2004) this album is out of print in America. All of Bruce's solo albums, other than Tattooed Millionare, are now out of print in the states. This sucks! These solo albums are great, and now they are becoming increasingly difficult to find! Accordingly, if you want to hear it, you may end up having to hunt it down in a used CD store, or order an import copy. A little word of advice to all you Dickinson die-hards - There is an import version available that features more tracks than the domestic edition.
Bruce's last solo album before his return to Maiden is a damn fine one. Following its release, both Dickinson and Smith would return to Maiden, and bring back the classic sound that the band had been lacking for so many years. The only problem is that this would cut Bruce's solo career short, and the songs from it would go forgotten by Maiden (I was shocked not to see the band play any of Bruce's solo material on the Rock In Rio live album.) If you're a fan of Bruce, and you want to experience his solo material at its finest, Chemical Wedding is one of the albums that will do just that. Will Bruce ever continue his solo career? Only time will tell.

This Is The Michael I Know!

Excellent Work! This is what R&B music is about. Michael Jackson makes me move to every song on this CD. "Rock With You" is my favorite and i thank Michael for doing this song.

NICE HAPPY MUSIC

This music is totally light-hearted and hugely enjoyable. Track 3 is so cool and track 9 is kind of spooky. I only wish more tracks from the film were in it.

A perfect rock album!

This is it, the best rock album in the world. Every song is a classic. There's so much atmosphere in these songs that it's unbelievable. I first heard this album a few years ago, when I was in my early twenties and trying to find out where I should go with my life.
This album is for any guy who's idea of heaven is a cold beer, a great girl, and a the need to get away. It's absolutely perfect.
Highly Recommened!
