Great cd

I loved this cd. Very relaxing. i also liked the way theat he added in his own touch of clasical music into every song. Great cd. It is nice to see him change from the same old clasical pieces he is known for.

Excellent, Emotionally moving music from the movie

The music material for this film is very different from most of his other fantastic themes. Here, he has composed music that is much more eloquent and delicate. Most of it is quiet, but it is very powerful. He was well deserving of the oscar for this film.

Title: Christiane F. Wir Kinder [Original Soundtrack]

Overlooked soundtrack catches Bowie at a pivitol time...

...that is, after the groundbreaking writing of Low and Heroes but before the slip into 80's-pop writing to please others. It's a transitional CD: old Bowie to new Bowie, 70's to 80's. This is the soundtrack for a German film of the same name; a film soaked in filth, depression, addiction, and prostitution. No black humor--it's the Anti-Trainspotting. But the music is upbeat; at times rocking, at times soothing...it provides a sharp contrast to the subject matter, and it symbolizes what Christiane and her friends were searching for but just couldn't seem to grab. I love the funky, Ziggy-like "Boys Keep Swinging" as well as the beautiful version of "Heroes/Helden". I could've done without the 3-odd minute intro to "Station to Station" (enough with the train sounds!!) and by the end the style begins to get old, but otherwise it's a great album. A must for Bowie collectors.
