Now, I know why even the older people like BSB

Black and Blue reflects Backstreet Boys's true "talent". I think that they are the best artists with a soul. This is one of the best CDs I have ever owned and has something for "everyone". My fav songs are I promise you and get another boyfriend. They have got decent lyrics and the music is fun to listen to. Enjoy!

Perfection as expected!!

Both of these songs are perfect for Clay's magnificent voice! He soars and lifts the listener up with him. It's difficult to decide which song is best, but I think I lean toward "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." His final "ease your mind" is awesome...gives me chills. Simon said Clay sounded too "Broadway"...........this is bad? Clay is the best male singer in years. If you liked him on AI, you're gonna love this.

Great album!

First, it was 1999's ...BABY ONE MORE TIME. Then, it was 2000's OOPS!... I DID IT AGAIN. Now, Britney has come back with her third album, BRITNEY. The album coincides with the film CROSSROADS, Britney's first major starring role. This album is sort of more on how she is growing up. The album shot straight to the No. 1 spot when it was released.
I'M A SLAVE 4 U The album's first single. The song talks about how Britney wants to be let go of because she's not a little girl. She's a young woman who "really wants to dance tonight with you". She says that the music makes her "a slave for you", so all she wants to do is dance.
OVERPROTECTED The album's third single. This one is of the theme songs from CROSSROADS. In this one, Britney talks about that she has always been overprotected and she wants everybody to stop because she's no longer a little girl. She's saying that everybody is trying to protect her from making mistakes, but we all know that we make mistakes and when we do, we all learn from them. Britney has to do that, even if she does not want to make any mistakes, she knows that it's gonna happen, but she's not worried because she knows she'll learn from them.
LONELY Not bad. Just your average break-up song.
I'M NOT A GIRL, NOT YET A WOMAN The second single from the album. We all know what Britney means here, so stop with all the "What are you? A boy or a man?" jokes. Britney is saying that she is no longer a girl. What makes her no longer a girl is that she has grown-up, both physically, mentally, and her age says so. She has learned a lot when she was a girl, but she still has a lot to learn before she becomes a woman. That's what the song is about. This was the second theme song from CROSSROADS.
BOYS The fourth single from the album. Remember back when Britney did (YOU DRIVE ME) CRAZY? Instead of releasing the album version as the single, she remixed it into (YOU DRIVE ME) CRAZY (THE STOP! REMIX) and made it the theme to 1999's DRIVE ME CRAZY. She did the same for this song. Instead of releasing this version of BOYS, she remixed it into BOYS (THE CO-ed REMIX) and she had Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D. provide his vocals, turning it into a duet. The Co-ed remix was released as a single and made the theme song to AUSTIN POWERS in GOLDMEMBER. Both Britney and Pharrell make their appearances in the video. One more person makes an appearance in the video. Guess who, baby, yeah!
ANTICIPATING Not a bad song.
I LOVE ROCK 'N ROLL The fifth and final single from the album. Before Britney could talk, this classic song was originally recorded by the infamous Joan Jett. Evem though Joan Jetts version is much better, because of it's real edged heavy rock sound combined with Joan's rock voice and rock style, Britney re-did this song with the intention of a classic and succeeded.
CINDERELLA From this album, this song is definitely my favorite. She talks about how her boyfriend always referred to her as "Cinderella" and she's fed up with his crap. She tells him that she's leaving him for good, in other words "Cinderella's got to go". My favorite part of the song is the spoken verse which goes like this: I USED TO SAY I WANT YOU. YOU CAST ME IN YOUR SPELL. I DID EVERYTHING YOU WANTED ME TO, BUT NOW I SHALL BREAK FREE FROM ALL YOUR LIES. I WON'T BE BLIND, YOU SEE. MY LOVE, IT CAN'T BE SACRIFICED. I WON'T RETURN TO THEE.
LET ME BE Not bad.
BOMBASTIC LOVE Great song!
THAT'S WHERE YOU TAKE ME Okay!
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE ME Everyone thought that this song was a duet between Britney and ex-beau Justin Timberlake. Again, they are wrong. Justin Timberlake and Wade J. Robsin wrote the song and Justin provided the back-ups. That's all. Not a bad song.
A great album by a great artist. An album that should be owned by every Britney fan.
