John Berry's voice is amazing- one of my faves in country!!!

I think that fans of this genre should definitely listen to John Berry. He's got an amazing voice, terrific lyrics, and real emotion in his songs. My absolute faves are "You and Only You" and "Your Love Amazes Me." He just comes across as VERY genuine to me. I don't know why he's not more popular- it's CRAZY to me! He blends old/new country w/ gospel sounds very well IMHO.

I love this out of all his CD's!

What makes me love this CD more than any other of Mike's is
the subtle inspirational messages he gives through the lyrics:

Anyone else catch any:

Don't be afraid to feel what's in your heart!!!

It will never happen, it will happen!!!

We must do all we can to reach compassion!!!!

I love 1st song with the synthesizer organ---

The magic that surronds you with the 2nd girl or boy vocal
has a very "peter-panish" melody--
a lot of songs hit alot of tender nerves with me--!!!!

Michael is at his most commpasionate with this CD!!!!!!!!!
It's like if Disney World was a kind of music, instead of
a place of wonder and magic, this CD would be it.........

Title: Matter + Form
Label: Metropolis Records
Artist: VNV Nation
Rating: 4/5

Neither their best nor their worst

"Futureperfect" didn't have the sawtooth energy I enjoy in VNV's music. So, I'm glad "Matter+Form" gets back to business. However, there's a noticable amount of filler among the really good tracks.

"Intro" is standard sci-fi ambience, akin to 90's Front Line Assembly. "Chrome" is one of the stronger songs, with good hustle and dance appeal. "Arena" and "Perpetual" sound like an actual snare drum is sampled into the beats.

"Colours of Rain" is a standout. The romantic, somber piano and minimal accompaniment are right up there with Martin Gore and Anne Dudley. Skip "Strata" and "Interceptor" - filler without vocals. "Endless Skies" is the other elegiac highlight, with some of Ronan Harris' best vocals and a heartbreaking reminder of when we had time to breathe.

"Lightwave", though another filler track, has more going on in it than "Strata" and "Interceptor". "Perpetual" is an interesting closer, with a really catchy synth melody line and a STROOOONG 80's sound.

Though not as powerful as "Praise The Fallen" or "Burning Empires", this CD is a good addition for VNV fans.

Title: You've Come A Long Way, Baby
Label: Astralwerks / Emd

Fatboy Slim is a God, how can one man make an album as premo as this? When I bought it I knew there were some good songs on it (Gangsta tripping, The Rockefeller Skank, Praise You) And I didn't expect much more, I put it in the stereo, pressed play and listened to the whole cd, 3 times. I love every song on this album. Norman Cook is a genius. How can he create so many songs that are all, fast, oringinal, feel-good, AND SO DAMN CATCHY! anyone who doesn't like this album, get a catscan. A must-buy
