An excellent introduction to Massive Attack

The opening track "Safe From Harm" is stunning. I couldn't stop playing it when I first bought the album. This album is great for it's beats, lyric references, and all of the different vocals. The weak track is "Hymn of the Big Wheel". It goes on a little too long, but the rest of the album kicks - "Unfinished Sympathy", "Blue Lines" and "Daydreaming" are the other standouts. This album may not be as dark as "Mezzanine" but that doesn't matter. The groundwork that these guys laid starting with this album makes it essential.

Howard will be the next John Williams

This review will focus mostly on the score for Treasure Planet by James Newton Howard. Treasure Planet is the third Disney film score composed by Howard and it is by far the best. He combines traditional 17th and 18th century music with modern influenced intruments to produce a totally fantastic adventure score. The score stays true to the nature of Stevenson's story yet at the same time is the perfect compliment to the movie. Overall an A+ and 5 star rating for the score. The two songs that go with the movie are fine in fact they are very good and much more tolerable than the recent Phil Collins songs for Tarzan so another A goes there. OVerall a great cd with a great score!

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Live

I was there at the beginning of the tour..first show in Jersey..and let me tell you, this live HBO special comes as close to capturing the essence of Bruce and the E Streeters as you'll ever see on DVD.
I'm sure most of you who are reading this are Springsteen fans, but if you're not...GET this and you will be. This a MUST have for fans of rock music who want to see the best performer on the face of the earth. at 53, Springsteen's shows are longer than most bands who started in the 90's.
Welcome to E Street!
