rather bland...

like when every madonna album comes out, i rush to the store the day it comes out and immediately buy it. in this case, it was no different. but this time i think i only listened to it a few times after purchasing it. I felt that this album was pretty bland, almost too mellow for its own good. i don't think i could pick a 'worst' album, rather ir i could pick a 'boring' would be BEDTIME STORIES. though there are some standout tracks...INSIDE OF ME, HUMAN NATURE and BEDTIME STORY.

Silly and Boring.

On paper, the concept is pure genius: Madonna, pop tart of the 1980s, teaming up with Britney Spears, pop tart of the new millennium. The collaboration could have been as titillating as the lesploitation kiss they shared at the 2003 VMAs. Instead, we get a generic dance single that's silly, boring, and goes limp faster than Britney's marriage. "Me Against the Music" stiffed on the charts upon release, and you can credit that to the forced come-ons and lack of chemistry between the two singers. In fact, the duet sounds so impersonal, Madonna could have very well recorded her vocals on an Mp3 file before FedExing them to Spears. "Hey Britney," goes Madonna, "you say you wanna lose control?" Well, if both singers lost a little "control" and got a tighter groove, "Me Against the Music" would be the killer dance tune it could have--and SHOULD have--been.

Nice downtempo world beats - But Paris Under A Groove......,

this is one hell of a CD. its garnered praise from magazines such as rolling stone and vibe, and in a world of bad and just mediocre, boring downtempo music, this one shines above the rest. their first two albums were alright, but this one has alot of indian/asian infulence on it, and the lyrics and booklet showcase famine and is very political. it could have had a bit more variety, but the album is one to create an atmosphere and mood more than anything, and not to be put into disecting song by song. definately reccomended.
