The 1978 tour

This live album of Bowie's 1978 tour draws heavily on the Ziggy Stardust songs. Other albums that feature are Station To Station, Young Americans, Low and Heroes plus there's the obscure Alabama Song. It is a pity that great songs like Young Americans, Golden Years, Sound And Vision and Word On A Wing are not included here, since I would have loved to hear them live. These versions are more uptempo than the studio originals and less polished, but there's enough electricity in the air. My favourite performances are Five Years, Station To Station, Fame. Breaking Glass and Heroes. The live performances throw an entirely different perspective on these well loved songs. However I recommend this album only to devoted Bowie fans. The live versions are best appreciated when the listener is already familiar with the originals.

I love this man!

He is my hero. His long hair, his gravelly voice, what can I say, Michael is The Man!
This is a must buy for all music fans. I mean, how can you be into music and not be into Michael Bolton, I ask you?!
Buy it, buy it, buy it.

Seal tips has hat, revs up the love and jazz...

I was kind of surprised by this recording - in a good way. This is not the conventional Seal we are all used to. This is a more, lovey dovey, jazzy, loungy album, and it's GOOD! There is more brass and piano, but still the catchy chord changes/progressions we are all used to in a Seal recording. This would be great dinner party and conversation music.
The special packaging is cool too, with a tri-fold embossed cardboard case. Special editions are always nice to grab.
My only "shame on you Warner Brothers" is for not including the Jakatta version of "My Vision". That version is so much better than this album version.
By the way, if you want the Jakatta/Seal version of "My Vision", but the WHOLE Jakatta album - it is FABULOUS. One of the ten best I've heard this year.

What else did you expect?

This album is gorgeous, and so is everything else with K & D ties to it. Richard Dorfmeister put out the perfect contrast to Peter Kruder's Peace Orchestra. Where is P.O. is more for headphone and under the influence listening, Suzuki is more for the dance floor. I believe Honey is the standout track here but everything in my mind is first rate. The warm sounds with the dope, slowed down house beats are hypnotic. I could talk about it all day, but you should just go buy it already!
