A Matter of Spellling

It is not very often that I buy a CD and love every song on it - but this CD has no bad songs. My favorites are Measure of a Man, I Survived You and When You Say You Love Me. This guy can really sing and I look forward to great things in the future from him!

This CD captures the fire of May's solo tour.

I saw May live in Royal Oak, MI on his Back to the Light tour. He and his band were spectacular. This album captures that fire. Too bad Cozy Powell his drummer died. Listen to this disc, and you'll know what I mean.

stripped or fully dressed...

it really doesnt matter. Christina can sing. Well. Since we're in the year of the "I'm Insane/Got Family Problems" album (you know who all of them are), it's only expected that the ethnic (like mariah) girl who really can sing (like mariah) would realize that she doesnt have to get naked (like mariah)or married ar a young age (like mariah) to be successful. she just needs to put on her clothes and sing. Stripped is a beautifully organized, fluid and well assembled album. A balance of ballads and up-tempo songs, Aguilera demonstrates her vocal range and her ability to cover any style around. "Dirrty" is a great song, and a great choice for a first single. Since everyone expects her to be a "skank", she might as well play off of that bad publicity and promote an album that should easily win several grammies, then release the (hopefully grammy winning, hint hint people) "Beautiful". Good move. "Loving me 4 me" (gorgeous), "Make Over", "Cruz", "Impossible"(by alicia keys), --even the now-worn out anthem to life and love "Beautiful" remind us how talented the girl is. We're so eager to desire her to live a cookie-cutout pop star life, and then feign disgust when she is true to herself (and this is not an act, unlike some of those silicon-supported, lip syching artists with whom she is compared). Not convinced? Cant get over her look? Here's a suggestion: open your ears, close your eyes, shut your mouth, and let her open hers. She's got something to get off her chest, and it isnt her top.

This guy can sing

I had heard of Russell Watson but never listened to him because of his "classical" category and I'm not into that kind of music. I was watching the Tribute to Broadway Show on Bravo featuring the top United Kingdom singers to see my favorite pop/rock singers and this classical singer, Russell Watson, was featured singing "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera. Much to my surprise, when Watson sang, I forgot about my favorite UK singers because I had never heard any singer do what this guy can do. He sang like Mike Crawford, then switched to a baritone voice and back to a tenor voice and probably his "opera" voice which I've never heard before. Point is, this singer blew my mind with his changing voices in this one song. I think he stunned the audience too, judging by the tremendous reception he received. I had to get one of his albums to see if he was for "real." And, he is.
I've listened to "O sole mio," "Is Nothing Sacred," "Somewhere," "Ave Maria," and "Bohemian Rhapsody," songs as diverse as they come. This guy can sing. I will probably buy his Voice album and am looking to see what other albums he has. He has a tremendous presence on the stage that none of the other top UK singers can match. Quite an introduction to me.
