Very entertaining.Strictly for the true fans only!

I don't like to completely dismiss an album... but this really is a piece of crap. Mr Slim aims for something between dried-up electronica and commercial pop and, with the exception of Acid 8000, misses every time. Anyone with the equipment could make an album like this, as there are no clever musical twists, no melodies, just the same samples being sequenced over again - has there ever been a more repetitve song than the Rockafeller Skank? Several of my friends were under the impression that this was a "cool" album when it came out, but no one I know listens to it a few months later. If you think this is a good example of dance music, then you've clearly not heard any Orb, Future Sound of London, Boards of Canada or Autechre.

Amazing Debut!

There is not really to much to say about this album except for that fact that this is what shot Madonna to the top. By listening to this album you can totally tell that Madonna is just one ball of talent and energy. To me this album seams more mature and professional than "Like a Virgin" which came out after this album. Not only did this album launch Madonna into the mainstream but it goes down in the record books as one of the most classic pop albums in history. For those of you who have "The Immaculate Collection" and think you have the best of this album you are wrong. Every song on this album is amazing. This is a must have!

Sorry, it's not Celine.

Close your eyes and you'll swear you're listening to Britney. At least the first two songs anyway. This isn't Celine. There's nothing here that grabs you. Sure the Celine purest will say its great, but I'm telling you its not. I think she misses the reverb in her voice as it sounds like any other singer out there.Hey, call me 'Simon' but its not her best by any means and I don't think it'll help her Vegas show. When you throw in a few songs from her New Day album back into this one, you know something's wrong. Sorry Celine, love you and all, but I'll wait until you're over this competing with the young girls and get back to the top of the mountain where you belong.

Title: Measure of a Man

Absolutely disgusting... If pop was a plush leather armchair this album would be a faux vinyl toilet seat. It is absolute trash without one original or intriguing ballad. In fact, every song sounds exactly the same with the exception of slight variations in the hook, courtesy of the talent created by having army of song writers who of course become the unmentioned masses on the final product. I read a CNN interview in which the head of RCA compared this milktoast elf to justin timberlake and christina aguilera. What a tragedy that someone this talentless who cannot even write his own bland predictable songs... would be compared to people who actually work for a living, putting out original music. I am sure that no matter how bad the reviews are that there are people that will still buy this album... the same people that had to touch the stove that their parents told them was hot, just to prove it to themselves. However, for the rest of you who are not pinning over Clay's "latent" innocense, save your time and money. If you want to listen to a talented musician who doesn't write his own songs, they still sell Sinatra albums.
