Classic Fogerty !

Always worth the wait...another Fogerty gem, just when we need it most. Ran right out to get this and it did not disappoint; can't wait to catch him on the road. Fogerty knows how to rock out, while sliding in an important message. Nicely done !

Amazing

I was blessed to have lived in Washington, DC when this entire piece was performed in the early 80s. I attended panel discussions about it, saw all the performances, and was awestruck by the simplicity and the sheer beauty of the work. Lucinda Childs did the most stunning choreography and Sol Lewit's video screen treatments provided a sense of mystery and wonder that made this artwork so incredible. And the music? Thrilling! I am delighted to have it back on CD. I only wish they had a DVD of it all! Mr. Glass? PLEASE!

a trip

Can Bjork do any wrong? It certainly appears she cant, especially with her sixth album Vespertine. This time around, Bjork shows us how hibernation can be magical. Its Bjork after all, turing household objects into beautiful instruments. Shuffling decks of cards, ice, and snapping fingers all have guest appearances behind her soaring vocals. Vespertine makes Bjork's previous work seem inhibited and self conscious, combining simple everyday sounds with energetic fairyland blips and burps; snuggling against some of the most imaginative and compelling words she's ever written. The first single "Hidden Place" is eerie in its quiet, but sound filled beauty. "Cocoon" is all about love and intimacy; with bjork describing her lover and in all seriousness, talking of him falling asleep inside of her. Bjork has created tiny little masterpieces on each quiet, sleepwalking song. "Pagan Poetry" is a change of pace, with deep tones. "Its Not Up To You" is simply outstanding, with an orchestral majesty and electronic effects. "Heirloom" is another standout, as well as "An echo A Stain", with its liquidy sound. Vespertine is a dripping faucet, saturday night card playing, and tiny music box fantasies that are as sweet, if not sweeter than anything Bjork has done before. Even Post now seems incomplete with Vespertine in the catalog.

Enjoyable--restful--inspirational CD

Are you looking for a religious CD that continuously plays familiar music --melding one song into the other? If your answer is yes, then David Philipps is the artist you want. I own almost everyone of Mr. Phillips tapes and I find his music so mellow, prayerful, relaxing and beautiful. He possesses a beautiful gift of making the piano sing, as he so effortlessly plays songs that one has heard often in church. You cannot go wrong with David Philipps music. I highly recommend him!
