Kelly Clarkson is finally 'Miss Independent'

Kelly Clarkson is wonderful. "Thankful" is a nice mix of pop, rock, and a little sprinkle of R&B. It includes both songs that shot her to stardom, "A Moment Like This" and "Before Your Love", with very little change even though they are considered remixes. Her voice soars on every track and proves why she was voted for "American Idol". If you like Kelly's debut single, "Miss Independent", then you must buy this album because that's not the best track on the CD! My all time favorites are "Just Missed The Train" and "Anytime".

The Voice of 1972 Greenwhich Village Left

This was one strange album, but I enjoyed it immensely. The music was adequate, the sentiments were very much of their time, and have not aged well.
This was a risky album for John. The highest it achieved on the charts that year was in the mid 70's, so it was not a sales leader by any means.
But you have got to respect a guy willing to make such strong political statements that were contrary to those held by the majority at the time.
Musically, the Yoko tunes are not up to par, but they are sure entertaining. John's work on the other hand has moments of inspiration, particularly "John Sinclair", "New York City" & the Live version of "Well, Baby Please Don't Go" that is track 1 of CD 2.
Aside from the previously mentioned song, most of the live CD is garbage. It is a shame the pairing with Frank Zappa and Mothers did not produce more interesting stuff. Lennon's sarcasm, and Zappa's irreverent humor could have produced some fine work in another context at a different time.
It takes a certain kind of person to enjoy this, but I always did, as did a few of my friends.

Something to consider

Well I must say that this is one of the best albums that I own, I have been a big fan of Enigma since the first album. I was not aware that this one came out until I was on deployment in the Persian Gulf. I bought this one and immediatly fell in love with it, there is so much great music on this one album, "Beyond the Invisible," and "TNT for the brain" I think are the best songs that this album has to offer, great songs to make love to and to just meditate. It is almost like Cretu writes a story when he makes an album and this one is just a continuation of the first two. I would reccomend this album to anyone, even if you are not an Enigma fan you like this one.
