What a dissapointment

Sounds hollow and without emotion. Songs don't say a thing to me. Actually, they do: they sound like somebody whining about something. Love his old stuff.

this cd is tuly a work of art. after all shes been through she has the strength to move on.people have called her names and yet she can still come out w/ a great cd. most people dont give it a chance becuase of the cover. well i hate to let all u haters down but its not about being naked its about showing her true self. most people base fiendships on what kind of clothes they wear and how pretty they are. she called the album stripped becuase she wants peple to see past her clothes and into her body. this cd has great songs mostly about her life believe it or not. fighter is about all she went through but still havin the strength to move on. beutiful is about not lettin other people bring her down but to believe in herself. there are alot of songs that will encourage u to believe in ur self. if u dont buy this cd and dont give it a chance then u will regret it.u can count on my words there true. and if u dont believe me. believe in the old christina aguilera she hasnt changed on the inside she still christina aguilera and always will be. u wont regret just listening to this cd

A little less solid than the earlier CDs

Like an earlier reviewer, it took a while for for me to get into "Where Strength Begins" and now it may be my favorite. I, too, notice that there is less direct participation in the songwriting by PCD -- one of the factors that made the earlier CDs so strong, especially "Where Strength Begins". Also, something else which I think is missing and has been on both "Strength" and "Favorite Songs" is the strong three-part harmonies without one part dominating. In other words, there's been (again, IMHO) too much Randy with Shawn and Dan as session singers, Shawn with Randy and Dan, Dan with Randy and Shawn instead of the solid one-front, three-part harmonies that dominated "Lifeline" and "Trust" -- or the marvelous "Shine on Us" from "My Utmost for His Highest", which is featured on "Favorite Songs".
I do like "New Millennium" a lot, "When God Ran" is wonderful and so is "A Place called Grace" and the title song. "I've Got You Covered" is nice. But that's less than half the songs on the CD and I can't come up with another title -- a lot of the songs just aren't as memorable.
Here's hoping they find a way of combining the new things they're trying with the old sound.

A Great Album, from an Amazing Talent!

I tell everyone not to judge Kelly Clarkson by just her recorded works; if you have not seen her sing live, then you have no idea how great her voice really is! "Thankful" has something for everyone and is so eclectic; has a little something to please everyone. Whether you are lookin for country, pop, r&b or rock; you will find it here! Here is a breakdown of the tracks!
The Trouble with Love is.....well this is the official third single from the album. The song is very good but I never expected it to be released as a single. But it goes very well with the movie it is being tagged too (Love, Actually). It should be an easy sell at Pop/Top 40 radio and should allow Kelly to gain even more exposure; crossing into the adult radio sceme.
Miss Independent..... one of the few songs on the cd that is really just dance/pop, although it has a rock edge. One of the biggest radio hits of 2003.
Low..... this was the second single, most everyone knows it; although it was not as big as hit has MI. I didnt think this was the best choice as the second single beacuse it was just so different than MI. This song is the more country song on the album.
Some Kind of Miracle.....the record company was pushing this song a lot prior to the release of the album. Many thought this would be the 2nd single. But I think the record company realized this one should really just remain an album cut. Its written by Dianne Warren but doesnt have a really strong hook and therefore probably would not do well on radio. Although this songs is Kelly at her best vocally!
Whats Up Lonely..... this is a great song! Its very bluesy and R&B like. The chorus and medley is so catchy. Although this is one of my favs, they wont release this one as a single. Just a great album cut.
Just Missed the Train..... same producer as "Low". Same feel as that song. I was predicting this as a single early on but after they released "Low"; I am doubting they will release this one considering they sound so much alike. Great Song though.
Beautiful Disaster..... the last song added on to the album. Its a great song, very hypnodic! It has a very late 80s and early 90s feel.
You Thought Wrong..... I really think this would have been a better follow up to MI, this is such a great song! Pop/Rock/R&B. This is going to be the fourth single! Should be a huge hit!
Thankful.... Very short song. Kinda just Kelly thanking everyone for everything. Good to sing a long to.
Anytime.....This has been my favorite song on the album since day ONE! I think they were considering releasing this early on but probably never will now. She sang it in "from justin to kelly" and they probably want to TOTALLY forget about that. It is the BEST song on the cd and one of the ballads I have ever heard! AMAZING!
