WOW!

UMM... WOW! This album is amazing. Kelly sounds great! I would highly reccomend it (even though the "new mixes" are the exact same of Moment... and Before...). Clive Davis produces it and everyone knows whatver he touches turns out to be amazng. 10 out of 5 stars!

Title: Carousel (1993 London Cast)
Label: RCA
Artist: Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, Michael Hayden, Joanna Riding

Nice orchestra. Shame about the cast, though...

In my opinion, Carousel is the best R&H play written (I usually find their work to be overly fluffy). As such, I really did not like this recording. Katrina Murphy was great, the orchestra was great, and Meg Johnson was decent, but how in the world did Joanna Riding and Michael Hayden ever make it into a musical? Neither of them could sing to save their lives, and I've heard high schoolers perform "If I Loved You" better than that. Barbara Cook sounded like a better Julie on her recording, and she was 60 and I hate Barbara Cook!! In short, avoid this recording like the plague, get the original cast or the Broadway revival and lets just forget this little musical disaster ever happened.

Inspiring

One of Tesh's best projects. Inspiring. Especially liked "Somebody Knockin' At Your Door" and "Speak to Me Lord". Highly recommended.

good work clay

i am not a teenager- i am a married 32 year old woman. i rooted for clay the whole season. some people have "it" and i knew he did the second i heard him sing. i went to the american idol concert and have been eagerly awaiting his cd release. just for the record-no pun intended-i bought one cd. i read the review that said the only reason clays cd sales were so high was because clays fans were buying multiple cds. i found clays cd to be very good and in good taste-but not saccarine. i listen to music to unwind,to relax, to feel better. clays cd did all that. as a woman, i find a lot of the music out there to be very ugly and demeaning to women-and i do not find that to be good entertainment.clays cd was refreshing. yes-it is ballads-but guess what? a lot of people like ballads, and some artists have been very sucessful with ballads as their primary musical style.i found clays cd to have only two miniscule flaws. 1-on a few tracks, the instrumentals were too loud. and 2-on a personal level- i really wanted him to sing unchained melody.
