Very dissapointing.

Her first two albums were amazing and i could see how talented she was just by the lyrics, she introduced a whole new genre of music to the pop culture. Her first couple of hits such as "hit me baby one more time" or "oops i did it again" revealed her obvious talent and ambition and at that time she was what i like to consider, "underground", but i knew after her newfound popularity and how much all the public loved her, that her music would start to decline and it would become more commercial, just like all the other great pop artists........backstreet boys, christana agulara, 'nsync, and even the all-time pop artist....michael jackson. So all in all this album just isn't the top notch britney quality that i once knew, and thats all i gotta say..........just kidding!

A Good Effort

I can't understand why there are so many negative reviews on this album....The album isn't as bad as a lot of you guys are saying....
1. Get Right - Honestly, I hated this song when it was released but after a few weeks I found myself falling for it. It is a great dance song and the film clip makes the song even better as Jennifer Lopez is a great mover!
2. Step Into My World - I like this track, it's on of my favs. It's a great song to have at the beginning of the album.
3. Hold You Down - Another song that at first I didn't like, but it seems to grow on you. A lot of people say that this is the best song on the album....Not sure about that but it is a popular choice
4. Whatever You Wanna Do - This song has an old school flavor to it, not my style......
5. Cherry Pie - Another song that really makes you wanna get up and dance, I quite like it
6. I Got You - I got you and you've got me, a nice flowing song, lyrics are nice too
7. Still Around - Another classic JLo beat with that rnb flavor to it, good song
8. Ride or Die - This is the best track on the album! Should be a single in the near-future. Great lyrically flow and vocal arrangement, I totally luv it!
9. I Love - Sounding a bit like some of the previous tracks, maybe a space filler?
10. He'll Be Back - The 2nd best song on the album. This track had a great bite, and has a great story line...
11. (Can't Believe) This Is Me - The 3rd best track on the album, very nice lyrics
12. Bonus Track: Get Right featuring Fabolous - Yeah I don't dig this track the feature of Fabolous kinda kills the song!

Overall the album is good, track 9-11 are the picks. I wouldn't bag this album, at least it doesn't have a lot of space fillers like many artists these days.

Title: Joy Will Find a Way
Label: Sony
Artist: Bruce Cockburn
Rating: 5/5

One of Cockburn's best

As good as his later work has been, I've always found Bruce Cockburn's first 10 albums, all spanning the Seventies, to be his most enduring, and JOY WILL FIND A WAY is one of his finest from that period. His song lyrics here have a spiritual sensibility without sounding contrived and his musicianship is as fine as always. The arrangements on some songs can nail you, particularly on "Lament For The Last Days," when two women's voices suddenly emerge from nowhere singing a descant as Cockburn softly sings of fire and brimstone. Sounds like it shouldn't work, but it does. A fine, fine album all around.

Best of 2001

I eagerly stared at the clock, waiting for it to strike midnight so i could buy Bj?rk's newest album Verseptine. I was determined to listen to it only under the right circumstances. I took it home, popped it in my stereo, turned off the lights and listened. The anxious moments spent in the record store were more than worth it as I heard the pulsating rhythms of "Hidden Place" and Bj?rk's eurphric voice fill the room. Verseptine fast became one of the most likely CD's to be in my cd player and ended up being the best new album released in 2001. Verseptine is a bit of a departure from Homogenic. Bj?rk leaves behind the reverberation of her voice that is present in Homogenic and makes it seem as though she is singing directly to you making the CD incerdibly personal and emotionally intense. The foreign sounds so prevalent in her groundbreaking Homogenic are less foreign this time around, but Verseptine answers the need for a beautiful heart-felt follow up to Homogenic. Verseptine offers a slightly more upbeat, happier compilation of songs than Homogenic and at the same time details a seclusion from society. Bj?rk has done it again. Ever using the recording studio as her personal insturment and shocking both devoted fans and those who stumble onto Verseptine. Verseptine is an essential CD for anyone who fancies themselves and emo-elitist, or just anyone...making Verseptine the #1 must have album of 2001.
