Awesome!

I just discovered Michael Buble, and I am certainly glad I did. He has picked some kick-ass classics, and he does them all so well. We'll be hearing a lot more from this guy in the future. Give it a listen, it's well-worth it!

This is the...

I have listened to this album so many times I lost count. It is utterly essential listening for anyone into this music scene. This has not left my CD case even once, except to listen to it over and over. Have you ever shuddered when listening to a really great song? Do you ever get goosebumps or feel a tingle when you are deeply touched by a peice of music or a good book or film? Do you choke up a little when your favorite tune comes on. This record did that for me. I like every song, but the first track is the very best. I demand that you fork your hard-earned money over to Amazon and get this record. You wont be disappointed!

Title: Evita: Music From The Motion Picture
Label: Warner Brothers
Artist: Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Madonna
Rating: 5/5

Memorable And Well-Performed.

How surprising it is to discover that Madonna and Antonio Banderas (who isn't even a professional singer but a great actor), sing a version of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "Evita" that is just as good as the original cast's, in fact, it is fair to say that at one point, it surpasses it. Like the Alan Parker film, this is a stunning piece of musical work. Banderas, Madonna, Jonathan Pryce and Jimmy Nail really bring these songs to life. "Evita" has always been a beautiful musical, with a beautiful style and beautiful music. Here Webber and the performers out-do themselves. The music is exquisite, and it's evident in such gorgeous, moving and memorable works like "I'd Be Surprisingly Good For You," "Buenos Aires," "Waltz For Eva and Che" and of course, the immortal "Don't Cry For Me Argentina." The musical arrangements are impressive, but Banderas and Madonna make the music more impressive still because they bring true passion to it. And like the best recordings, listening to this CD easily allows you imagine the images of the story. The drama is powerful and there's a lot of fun to be found here. Few musicals have turned out this good, especially few film adaptations like this one. Let's hope someone thinks of adapting a film version of Webber's "The Phantom Of The Opera." This soundtrack is a must for those who enjoy great musicals and great, dramatic performances. A work of art.

Title: Phaedra
Label: Virgin Records
Artist: Tangerine Dream
Rating: 5/5

I am mortally offended that Phaedra is so short. I love it!

"Phaedra" was the album that brought Tangerine Dream to the attention of many outside of Germany and was John Peel's album of the year for 1974.
By this point, the Tangs had gone through monumental changes in the scope of their music, from the amazing blitzkrieg of "Electronic Meditation" and "Alpha Centuari" to the pre-cursor of modern ambient music with "Zeit," which was the band's first forays into the then still primitive world of the Moog synthesizer.
"Phaedra" is a very controlled effort, and shows that Froese/Franke/Baumann had made serious strides in their use of the Moog and other synthesizers. The results are beautifully spaced out, mixing the synths with Froese's still-present guitar (though not for long). Still, the pieces are easily accessable, and that makes it a classic.
While in my book not as groundbreaking as their first 3 lp's, "Phaedra" did open the door to international success for Tangerine Dream to walk through- and they have never looked back. In many ways their most realized effort.
