Come on, it's Star Wars!

Where would we be without the score from Episode IV? Modern films might not have turned out so well-scored if it weren't for John Williams' brilliant original soundtrack to the first installment of this epic series. As the movies kept coming, Williams kept producing fresh new music for the films. Episode I saw "Duel of the Fates", an energetic and moving tune. Here, Williams continues his great composing. Sure, it retains a lot of the familiar sounds, but it hits us with perhaps the best original song of the series. "Love Theme from Episode II" is incredibly serene and powerful at the same time. It enchants you with its smooth flow and dynamic measures. The rest of the score reflects the old Star Wars Williams, but at least he keeps us on our toes with new and amazing music.

Bjork's best album

This is Bjork's best. Almost every song is wonderful, and each is different. "Hyperballad" has lots of flavor and builds up to a climax when the beat is picked up towards the end. It's a good song that inspires energy and sensitivity at the same time. You can dance to it or relax to it. "It's Oh So Quiet" was cool the first time, reminding me slightly of the Beatles' Honey Pie- not really rock and roll or pop, more of a 1940's era sound. Got bored of that one pretty quickly, though. "Isobel" starts off slow and warm, and gets passionate and louder, with a great orchestral backing, towards the end. Certainly one of Bjork's best songs. "I Miss You" is a great song to jog, dance, or drive to. Has a great electronic beat and the horn riffs are so catchy and quite memorable. "Cover Me" went by me the first few times, now I think it is Bjork's most enchanting song. With the beautiful harp, it reminds me of The Doors' Soft Parade beginning.

Real reggae, real nice. Ites! Ites!

John Brown's Body album 'Among Them' is not to be missed. The music and the message ring true - a creative yet classic reggae sound that is grooving and danceable with a vocal message that ascends the craziness of materialism and consumerism, and speaks of the true values of life - love, peace and harmony. A universal message for all of us. The CD has ten or so vocal tracks with two or three dub tracks. The mix is very warm, with strong drum and bass, clear vocals, and solid horns and keys, plus the dubwork is amazing! Highly recommended.
