blah

The problem with most reviewers, is they base their review of this album, based on what the previous albums sounded like. Hence, all the bad reviews. Stated quite simply, this is an excellent and different album. It's very funny to see all the grunge and hard rock fans say how much they hate this. I guess they'll have to stick with Pearl Jam (who haven't put a decent album out since Vs.). This type of reviewing is a tradgedy (Mansun's "Six" was a victim of this also). Excellent and recommended.

Unbelievably bad

I've read the reviews here before deciding to buy this album, for both admirers and critics of Russell Watson have urged people to listen to the cd themselves instead of being influenced by words of the opposite camp.
Now that I've listened to this cd, I can say that, in my view, it is unbelievably bad! Russell Watson certainly doesn't have the technique or musicianship to do the music justice. Instead, his haphazart and stylistically coarse singing may even frighten people away from classical music. And for those who enjoy his kind of singing, they may not proceed to genuine classical music as they may then already be accustomed to a "dumbed down" version of those songs and arias. I don't think that Rusell Watson's work can lead people to classical music at all.
Personally, I'm glad to have heard this cd, for I can now say loudly and clearly that this cd is not up to par. One has also to hear before one can believe how bad the singing actually is. I hope I've now earn the right to give this cd 1 star.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Albums come and go, they are forgotten and remembered, as are the people that made them. Once in awhile, though, there comes along a masterpiece the likes of which could only have been created through nothing short of divine inspiration. This, folks, is it. The desert island album to end all desert island albums. There is not a false note to be heard - everything appears planned to perfection, when in fact Miles only had rough sketches planned out a few hours before recording. This is the sound of six brilliant men and what happens when they allign like the planets. It is the sound of pure spontaneity. It is the sound of perfection.

Literally, breathtaking

Madonna has certainly improved with age! Her alto voice, and her choice of recordings within the past few years, have both drastically improved to the point where I've willingly bought both this single and her recording of Evita. The original song is thumping and exhillarating - the remixes are interesting, although they do not, in my opinion, touch the original. The final remix is particularly singular for its operatic overtones. An excellent song for this crazy, rushing world - a ray of hopeful light through the swirling madness.
