I've had this CD for about two months now and it still sounds as fresh as the first time I listened to it. Its got a terrific smooth cool space-lounge groove thing going that I've yet to get tired of. Great for a party or the car. I know there are a lot of comparisons to Air, but I also think that this album also illustrates the direction that Tangerine Dream could have gone instead of getting stuck in the rut they did. It also reminds me of the music you might hear in a groovy 70's scene movie. It reminds my sister of a soundtrack to a 70's porn flick. I think we're both right. Anyway, I highly recommend it to folks who enjoy the "progressive" music of the 70's. I don't mean to imply that the CD is a throwback, rather that the group has managed to capture the atmosphere of a much earlier experimental music scene while producing a thouroughly modern and captivating CD.

It's a shame...

that the zulu chants aren't on this compilation, as that was the only interesting and memorable music in the film. In the final scene, where the zulus make their final attack against the british, the warriors sing a beautiful and haunting chant with oscillating harmonies which quickly become annoyingly interrupted when the british start singing one of their stiff and totally uninspiring anthems.

Not just another pretty face

I bought the album on a whim, and I've been pleasantly surpised. Even my 12 yr.old daughter who is a die hard country music fan loves this album. His choice of lyrics and songs show he has a deep sense of the world around him. His voice touches your heart. Although the style is not something I'm used to, it picks you up and takes you along for the ride. Cut #2 "babies[the in between]", makes me cry, thinking about time away from my own children and #12 "one man's rain" with it's spiritual veiw of our connection to each other and to the world we live in, is a favorite even with my six year old!

Title: My Fair Lady (1956 Original Broadway Cast)
Label: Sony

A perfect cast album from a perfect show

MY FAIR LADY is understandably the world's most beloved musical. Based on one of Shaw's great plays, with Lerner & loewe's finest score, put on stage with the perfect cast, and opening on Broadway at just the right time: late in what had been a very disappointing season for musicals.
This original Broadway cast album, made just days after the premire, captures all the freshness and excitement of the triumphant opening. (Avoid the London cast recording which has teh same cover art but printed on a gold background. The ORIGINAL original cast album with the white cover is the one to get!)
This Cd hardly needs my endorsement. It's been a best-seller for 48 years now.
