To buy Britney or to not buy Britney, that is the question..

We've all heard her hits of the past "Baby one More time" and "Oops I did it again" and even the *NEW* single "I'm a Slave 4 U", but the real question here is "Is Britney a strong enough album to pull off the monster hits her past album's did and keep her in superstardom?" Well yes and no its simply not a good of an an album as her past not to say its not listanable, because it is, but its just not something you get up and dance around to like her other music. Sure there are a few good thumping tracks, but its not the same.
And this album is soooo highly anticipated people don't care if it sucks or not, it doesn't suck anyways but... I mean even though I know its not the greatest disc in the world I plan to purchase it, not because its Britney but because she took an artitistic leap. And whether or not it was a brilliant move or not I respect her for it... I have heard the majority of the tracks. Tracks like "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman" have very lush melodies, instrumentation, and vocals. I read that Britney can't pull off that song vocally, but I think she does quite a fine job. "Let me Be" and "Slave" are just a couple of the body bumping tracks on here. This CD is less a lovey dovey album and more of a decleration of independence, but in some areas it seems a little artificial.
"That's where you take me" is another good faster track, and for the majority of the tracks they are maybe a bit above mediocre. There are defienetely big singles on here, hopefully they'll actually get big. And maybe Britney will get more appreciating? Maybe...Just maybe... And you will be able to judge that.
God Bless ~Amy

Title: Have You Never Been Mellow
Label: Mushroom Records
Artist: Olivia Newton-John
Rating: 5/5

Her best early work

I was a huge fan of Olivia as a kid, and this album literally has been in my collection in one form or another since its release. Producer/arranger John Farrar just outdoes himself, and Olivia has never sounded better. Lots of interesting covers, including great versions of John Denver's "Follow Me" (longtime ONJ fans will remember she did a LOT of his songs) and Rick Nelson's "Lifestream." The absolute best track on this album in my opinion, however, is her cover of the Hollies' "The Air That I Breathe." Starting as a quiet, minor acoustic ballad, the last chorus suddenly gets chillingly bombastic. I was eight years old when my parents took me to see Olivia's tour for this album, and she did this song, and the place just went insane. Olivia was at her peak with this album, so if you can only own one ONJ record, this is it, look no further.

Amazing Amazing Amazing

What can I say? This cd is just wonderful! Christina really shows that she can sing sing sing! My most favorite song is The Voice Within, but all of the songs are excellent.
If you weren't a fan of Christina's before, this cd will change your mind for sure. I have all three of her cd's not including her Christmas cd which I am going to get this year.
I recommend this cd for every one who is a fan or not....to just listen to the music. Almost each song has a great message in it for everyone.
I'd give it ten stars if I could.
