A great Half-Album

?? I almost didn't buy this. I saw 'Crosby Nash 2CD set' and thought "a few good songs mixed in with self-indulgent diatribes (Crosby) and overly simplistic platitudes (Nash)".
But curiosity got the better of me and I'm glad it did. And guess what?...I was right! But when these guys come together on the right song, it's the old magic again. And there are at least 10 or 11 of those here (out of 20). The very best: Marc Cohn's 'I Surrender', James Raymond's 'Lay Me Down', and Crosby/ Dean Parks' 'Through Here Quite Often' are stellar songs performed with passion and compassion. It also begs for more collaboration on the rest of album as this clearly 'front-loaded' project declines rapidly from these heights back to the sophomoric solo writing of Nash ('Milky Way Tonight' and 'Shining On Your Dreams') and Crosby's fillers 'How Does It Shine?' and 'Samurai'.
The best here would have made one strong single CD at a reduced price. Why can't these guys edit themselves? They can't seem to ever cut the wheat from the chaff and don't have producers who can exert that power either.
Oh well... I'll take what's here, burn a 'Best Of' of the 2 CD's (for myself - in case the RIAA storm troopers are reading) and hope the next time these wonderful voices come together, it will be as good as the best here - on a single CD. Hope not to wait as long for the next one.

Title: Dangerous

Dangerous is a crown jewelled masterpiece!

When most people think of Michael Jackson's music, the first thing that comes to mind is, "Thriller." Not to berate this album or all that it has done for Michael, his career and the music world in general, but the "Dangerous" album is by far one of Michael Jackson's best efforts to date!
With Michael's decision to part ways with Quincy Jones, he opened the door to a more raw, aggressive, gritty sound. This decision has morphed Michael from a 1980's icon into a 1990's mega-star! Michael's 1982 effort, "Thriller" and 1987's "BAD" albums were excellent musical efforts by all music standards, but were heavily pop influenced! Jackson's decision to recruit singer/songwriter/producer, Teddy Riley allowed Michael to reconnect to his R&B roots and garnish a new legion of fans that he would not have obtained by relying on the same formula that he and Quincy Jones had produced for over a decade.
Some of the hightlights from this album would be tracks such as "Jam," "Why You Wanna Trip On Me," "Remember The Time'" "Can't Let Her Get Away," and my all-time favorite, "Who Is It." Don't take my word for it, 7 million music lovers can't be wrong!

Why the backlash - AMERICAN LIFE is BRILLIANT

Don't listen to any naysayers or silly critics worried that Madonna is "bashing America" -- that's silly. Madonna has created some of the finest eletronic-folk music ever to grace my ears. From the unique sound of the title track to the lush orchestration in "Nothing Fails", this is by far one of Madonna's most accomplished albums.

Both Volumes Of Singles 1 And 2!

Forget about buying "Singles, Vol.1 " and "Singles, Vol. 2". This has both CD's and all the same songs for a cheaper price. Yup - all the same songs. It's a mystery why this is so hard to find, as the original double disc sold so well.
