Best JF record so far

This is probably the most Funky, Grungy, Distorted album that John has made so far. It's my favorite of all his albums because of this. Omar Rodriguez from The Mars Volta makes a guest appearance on the track 666. Josh Klinghoffer does a good job playing most of the bass tracks and all drums. Best song on the cd is Look On. Incredible song with the best guitar solo by John yet. I recommend this album completely.

This is a six star

Well, I received this CD during the Xmas season and have not been able to stop listening to it. I am new to ambient music - and I am now hooked. It is a new level of rhythms, vocals and spirit. My friend got it for me because I have always lived by one rule - Karma is a hungry mother. Now this CD seems to be part of that rule. I highly recomend.

Pathetic

I would have to say that I'm not any sort of fan of these boy/girl and now even worse mixed formulated groups. But I do have the guilty pleasure of having hummed or even sang out-very quietly in case anyone else could hear, some of Backstreet Boys songs from time to time.In my opinion they are streets ahead of any other artists in this particular genre-or maybe I should rephrase this they chose the best songwriters to enable their own particular talents to flourish. And yes even if you hate the music they are in my opinion a talented group.I mean they can all sing pretty good-unlike many boybands who have one singer and plenty of people standing, smiling in the background-they're harmonies are pretty good and they also have attracted many fans worldwide-so they must have some appeal.Songs such as 'I Want It That Way','As Long As You Love Me' and 'Larger Then Life' are just great songs that will last far longer then this group probably will.Yes it is bland and predictable-but then isn't that what popular culture is all about-we know what to expect and we keep coming back for more. There are also plenty of pretty bad songs here and many of the lyrics are totally crass-but one thing you can tell in this collection is how much the group have evolved from being purely for young teens to a more contemporary M.O.R. pop band that some adults may actually like.I notice many people are critical also saying how can they call this a Greatest Hits collection when they have only released 3/4 albums.Yeah I'd have agreed with this a few years ago,but B.S.B's are certainly not the only ones guilty of this.Right now over on this side of the Atlantic we are seeing countless similar collections from bands who have even released fewer albums then this group-so I think it's unfair to blame the B.S.B.'s for this phenomenon.

"Freakin' Awesome"

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE is one of those rare, quirky movies that could have stood alone without a great soundtrack. However, the music in the film augments it to a higher level of status. Most of the music from the movie is contained here on this cd. There are a few songs which didn't make it onto the soundtrack, but most of the film's music is here along with several snippets of film dialogue. Some of my favorite songs on the album are:

"I Want Candy"

"Forever Young"

"Time After Time"

"The Promise"

"The A-Team Theme"

Some of my favorite snippets of dialogue include: What Ever I Feel Like, Pull In Town, Vote For Me, and of course Talons. NAPOLEON DYNAMITE is a brilliant movie and if you enjoyed it, you're sure to love the soundtrack. Sweet.
