Russell never fails in making beautiful music with that voice of his. I have all his albums and I must say this tops them all. The selection of tracks suits his singing style and this album depicts the maturity of his voice throught the years. Highly recommended.

Could have been better

I must say I am glad they are trying new things and not recycling the same chants, etc, but also this record sounds like they found a lot of tape on the floor and decided to make a album. I really like "From East To West" (In my mind it is the long awaited extended version/remix of all the intros to the albums.) The problem with this is Michael singing too much. He has a hard to manage voice and seems to be running out of ideas for lyrics (very evident by the lyrics in "Look of Today", a total rip-off of ABC's "Look of Love".) I think he was great on some of the previous albums with "The Roundabout" and "Modern Crusaders", but is faltering. Some of the dance beats are great, especially on "Look Of Today", "From East to West" and "Voyageur" but that is it. I gave it a 3 for effort.

The Replacement Singers....

I DID love this soundtrack, and the music. BUT, why in the world to they release a soundtrack of a motion picture, and replace the singers who sang it in the film? Can they really call it a film soundtrack? A soundtrack should be litterally lifted from the films audio tracks and assembled on a CD. BUT, this soundtrack did bring back the feelings of actually watching the movie. And here, you get to hear Neely's full version of "Give A Little More". Dionne Warwick does not appear on this recording (Dory Previn replacing her), and neither does Margeret Whiting who sang "I'll Plant My Own Tree" in the film. We all know that that's not Patty Duke doing her own singing, but WHO IS DOING THE OVER DUBBS FOR HER?? Does anyone know? This is a real fun recording and I recommend it. ...

Q-tip on track 1?!??!?

Yes, this CD is worth the money. Yes, it does show how the Chemical Brothers are freakishly talented. Yes, it's better than "Come with us." Yes, every time they have a new release it's better than the last (with exception of their singles compilation). Yes, they are original as ever on this outing and cutting edge as well. I mean Q-tip on track 1 should tell you that something is quite different. If you didn't like this album there's something wrong with you. I've been a Chemical Brothers fanatic for since their early beginnings and they have yet to disappoint. GO BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!
