Great sound and Memorable Lyrics

Madonna "the diva" has added another classic to her line. The album as a whole is very good but some songs are very very catchy. American Life definitely grows on you, I'm so stupid provokes you, and love profusion certainly takes you away. She's amazing as usual. This album will give you the good vibes, the positive energy you seek. And most importantly make you think too... Way to go Madonna!

One of the darker Bowie albums

Diamond Dogs was meant to be a rock opera set to George Orwell's grim, classic novel, 1984, a book which David Bowie became quite obsessed with in the early 1970s. After completing the project, Bowie was denied legal rights by Orwell's widow. The glam rock king then reworked the music to avoid copyright infringements (although a few key phrases such as "Big Brother" and "We Are the Dead" have stayed) and added a few of the trashy, frisky rock and roll songs he had recently become known for (Rebel Rebel, Rock `N Roll With Me).
Although many of the names and concepts had changed, the album retains a vision of horror and epicism. Big Brother is such a startling, double-edged political rally soundtrack that it sends chills. Sweet Thing, Candidate and Sweet Thing (Reprise) could be Bowie's most thrashy and paranoid suite since he released The Man Who Sold the World. Although the revisions left with the album with a partial story -one which was likely pretty complicated- leading to some confusing parts and lyrical blah, Diamond Dogs is still an excellent look at the darker side of Bowie's imagination.

Greatest (and most successful) concert performer of All Time

For those who say Madonna is over, go to Billboard.com and look at her concert ticket grosses. In New York, she sold out SIX shows to 185,000 fans and had similar success in other venues. This is good, considering she's coming off of the weakest album of her career. AMERICAN LIFE is NOT the disaster it was made out to be. The album was poorly timed with the new era McCarthyism that developed in the United States last year. Madonna was quietly dixie chicked in every way possible. That said, there are some songs on here that are UTTER crap. Nobody Knows Me sounds like it was written by a three year old. "I'm So Stupid" is...oh well, stupid. "Mother and Father"..gosh, what was she on when she wrote that song? Then again, the album has its gems as well. The title track is funky and fun to listen to, "Nothing Fails" is absolutely beautiful, and "Intervention" is one of Madonna's best tracks ever. Once again, this album is NOT the disaster it was made to be.
