Ain't No Mountain High Enough...

ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wild keeping me from getting this soundtrack!!! *s*
Trust me, this is a soundtrack that is worth the money!!! And the movie is Unbreakable simply one of the best movies I've ever seen! Julia Roberts and including Susan Sarandon was one of the executive producers here, so Julia and Susan made ut some WONDERFUL original ideas to this movie - for instance; the proposal scene. That was Julia's idea, and the director Chris Colombus is just wonderful... He is also the one who directed Mrs. Doubtfire, and produced Forrest Gump :)
A movie about two women that have to share one family, is not going to be simple. Especially not when one of them gets cancer... A movie, actors, director and music you won't forget! See it with somebody you love! This is one of the year's best!!
Be there for the joy ... be there for the tears... and be there for each other...

The mainstream is a sad state of mind...

I don't have much to say but this cd sucks. Out of all 20 songs, only one is half-way decent and it's a cover!!! (No Doubt)The very worst songs on here have to be the ones by Chingy, Britney, Black Eyed Peas, and Good Charlotte.I suggest you avoid anything that comes out in the mainstream nowadays and listen to Skinny Puppy. Now that's a great band...

She's grown up a LOT and this CD shows it

Can't Hold Us Down (feat. Lil' Kim): I'm not a huge fan of this song, but it has a good beat.
Walk Away: This song is so powerful. There is none of the synthesized pop vocals we saw on Genie in a Bottle and the like. This is purw, raw talent. She sings her heart out.
Fighter: Cute album track. Love the bridge on this song.
Infatuation: Very sensual and melodic.
Loving Me For Me: Yes, this is Mariah-esque (think "Bliss" from Rainbow), but she pulls it off. I'm not a fan of adding spoken parts to songs, because I think it comes off as cheesy instead of candid.
Impossible: Wow. This collabo with Alicia Keys is fantastic, musically, lyrically, and vocally.
Underappreciated: Kinda weak, overdrawn, R&B track.
Beautiful: This song is perfect. It's not juvenile, as some reviewers have indicated. Look at Beatles songs. Were they written with a bunch of 50-cent words? Nope. And they're pretty powerful, huh? So is this.
Make Over: The weakest cut on the album. I think Kelly Osbourne should be singing this. Ick.
Cruz: A really inspired, moving song. Again, her voice shines here.
Soar: Sounds like it should be in a Disney movie, or maybe the Olympics.
Get Mine, Get Yours: Love this track. Very sensual.
Dirrty: Great song. Fabulous beat and great vocals.
A Voice Within: An okay song - not single matierial though
I'm OK: Very honest and sad. Not simplistic at all. Lyrically it's actually pretty good. She's telling the story of abuse though a child's eyes.
Singing My Song: Nice, inspirational end track. You go, Christina.
Get Mine, Get Yours - 9/10. I like the melody to this song because it's very urban, but I hate the lyric "I want your body, not your heart." I would recommend this song as background music.
Dirrty (featuring Redman) - 7/10. Everyone pretty much already knows this song. It's danceable and Redman's part is fun, but the lyrics are pretty tired.
The Voice Within - 6/10. Another Mariah Carey-esque, sappy song.
I'm Ok - 10/10. This song doesn't have a memorable melody, but the lyrics will always stick in your head. Props to Christina for being so brave and vulnerable with this song. It makes me feel really sorry for her and her voice is so emotional.
Keep On Singin My Song - 9/10. This is an OK song, by the end of the album you get kind of tired of the "I'm stronger than yesterday" theme.
Overall, I'd recommend this album to r&b and ballad lovers.

I chose well

I haven't purchased a CD since the Black Album, and before that, probably not since the year before that...
All I can say is I chose a good one to go out and buy. VIBE was right in certifying it a classic. I put the entire CD on repeat every morning and never get tired of it.
I even sent a copy to an older friend and he loves it too!
