In the greatest tradition...on TV or CD

Like the legends before him, Mr. Buble has that uncanny ability to "take hold" of the listener/viewer and sooth their souls!

This album is phenomenal, Buble's charasmatic sound is like none I've heard before and leaves me yearning for more - much more. I loved his duet on Jane Monheit's fine album, and really enjoyed watching him play himself on the television series "Las Vegas" that aired last night. What a gorgeous and talented man.

Up there with her debut album

Mariah's sophomore effort fell short on repeating the success of the first one.She had less producers working with her, concentrating mainly on Afanasieff's help for the ballads (CAN'T LET GO and TIL THE END OF TIME being my favourites here..) and Clivilles/Cole of C&C Music Factory - sort of METRO team back in the early '90's - giving a helping hand on the uptempo beats (MAKE IT HAPPEN, EMOTIONS and TO BE AROUND YOU are fun and the dancefloor thanks...). Even Carole King stepped on board, but the co-written tune seems out of focus...Well, the voice is there...so enjoy THAT at least.

Avant soul jazz

A generous workout from an unusual sax/guitar/organ/drums line-up. Despite David Murray and the late Don Pullen's avant-garde reputations, they understood the African-American gospel and blues tradition, and with Pullen playing a Hammond B-3 instead of his usual piano, the whole record is infused with a kind of soul jazz feel - sort of like what those old Blue Note records would have sounded like if they had absorbed the subsequent 25 years of developments in jazz. The highpoint is the closing track, Pullen's "Milano Strut" which he originally recorded as a duet with drummer Don Moye on an obscure Italian label. Here it gets a fuller reprise with the addition of the sax and guitar.

Great pop record

This is a great pop record and great for any fan of late nineties pop. It's also really a great snapshot of Ms. Spears' evolution after her rocket to fame. From the unforgettable first single, "...Baby One More Time" to her latest release, a cover of Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative". One must admit, pop culture in the late nineties and last five years would not have been the same if this girl from rural Louisiana had not exploded onto the music scene. Highlights of this album would be her two newest tracks "Do Somethin'" and "(I've Just Begun)Having My Fun" along with chart-toppers "Toxic", "Oops!...I Did It Again" and "I'm A Slave 4 U". I know alot of people criticize Ms. Spears for lack of singing talent. Well I will admit that she is not the best vocalist out there but she can sing. She does have a lot of back tracking on her songs, but you know what....it's just fun pop songs. Take it for what it is and you'll have a great time with this record, as well as it's amazing remixes on the bonus disc!
