Good sequel score...

Jurassic Park is one of the most memorable and famous film score of the 1990`s. The main theme is totally unforgettable. In 1996,Williams also scored the sequel. I thought the movie was bad, because it is so incredible unrealistic. But the music was better. Unfortunatley, this score is not as memorable as the one for the first film. The magic of the main theme is gone and it has been replaced by a massive, but much darker main theme. Over all, this does not sound like a typical Williams score. The first one contained no drums but this one is full of aboriginal drums and other jungle sounds, probably to give an exotic and dangerous jungle feeling. This is more like an action score,as there are almost no ethnic moments at all. There is mostly mysterious music, such as "The Trek" and "Finding Camp Jurassic". If not,we have some real highlights. "The Hunt",which was only heard a little in the film,is a majestic and dangerous hunting theme,as "Rescuing Sarah" is an action-filled and tense cue with many drums. "A Visitor in San Diego" features 8 minutes of tense and very dark action music as the T-rex attacks the town. And in the final track, the classic JP theme finally appears and it is magnificent. Over all,I think this score has been underrated. It is pretty good after all. But it does not deserve a 5 star rate because there are too few calm, beautifull moments of the score. If you liked JP1,I think you should try this one too. Nice to see Williams do something else than just fanfares.

she is also a woman

Tough I think that venessa williams is a very good singer but to gentle to be the spider woman ,I will say some good things about this version of the spider woman. I think that the orchestra is putting the emphasize on every single bit in the musical and playing the music with a grate timing which is excellent .and I think that valentine sings " the day after that " in a very convincing and sensitive way and though I liked the original version more...I think this is a very good version and it is worth buying it.

Ambient Rock?

An interesting album by Brian Eno, a mixture of rock and ambient music. This release like may others from him have lush sound scapes and plenty of atmosphere.
"Another Green World" is one of his more wordier works, but it also contains some wonderful instumentals. Sudulity and minimalism are concepts used threw out many of the tracks, which in turn enhance the atmosphereic like quality of the album.
The lyrics are melancholy but far from cliched New Age blandness. "Another Green World" and "Before and After Science" are similar albums in lyrical content and ambience. It's a must for any Brian Eno collection.
